Same price since they removed the subsidy from the price (and all the devices are on installment plan nowadays)What does this cost if you bring your own device for all lines?
And then you might as well wait another year to get even better pricing. 😉Yeah AT&T always seems to roll out new plans around iPhone launch. Best to wait another year to get a better deal
They aren't improving anything? The 15 GB plan isn't cheaper now? These plans really don't offer any value
That's worth looking at
ATT. shooting itself in the foot
My parents do use this plan. I think they'll bump it up when they go on a trip, but 10 or 11 months a year this is all they pay for both of them.Because believe it or not, not everyone uses a ton of data. I'm pretty sure my parents could share a 300 MB plan and not go over.
Those griddy bastards. I see the plan includes México, talking of which I currently pay USD$ 12 a month for 200 minutes, 200 SMS and 1.2 GB data with free email/social networks and 3 free text/call numbers. It's for people on dumbphones. They still have to purchase data. A dumbphone works out to be $40 a month with unlimited minutes and text, with no subsidy.
Just FYI, I'm not attacking you with this. I see accusations always slung around about how terrible T-Mobiles network is, or that, in general, T-Mobile is less expensive because they don't have the same coverage, reliability, or signal penetration. To an extent, I'm sure that's true. That said, if AT&T and Verizon were not feeling threatened by either T-Mobiles pricing, network, and/or extras I don't think they'd be reacting nearly, as much.I signed up for 4 GB of data for $70 originally, then they bumped me to 6 GB for $70... I think I'll drop to the 5 GB for $50 ASAP.
I'm really happy that TMobile is forcing AT&T to try to keep me.... And if AT&T ever stops trying, I might just swap to TMobile.
The AT&T support chat person said everyone on plans 15GB or more will automatically get Canada/Mexico unlimited calling/texting without having to do anything. I would make a test call and wait for the bill to arrive next month before calling my grandmas.
I don't think so. I'm on this too and it's been pretty tough to beat. I hope this goes on for a long time and doesn't expire after a year or something, although I don't think we ever use more than 10 GB/month.
Wouldn't be surprised if my watch uses that much 🙂300MB/month? Why even offer this?
Wow, that's a pretty passionate response.
Just to clarify, my original point wasn't "whoo!! go Europe! US sucks!", but more "I hope you get fairer prices soon". I'm not sure why you're being so defensive for companies who, at the best of times, are widely regarded as pounding the consumer. But hey, if you're happy paying $100 a month because you feel you get more for your money, who am I to argue.
Why is it $40 more to jump from 15 GB to 20 GB?? That doesn't make any sense to me. The $140 plan should be at least 30 GB.
What does this mean for me? I have the old 15GB plan but upgraded to the double data when ATT was offering it a short time. Now I have 30GB. No price change?
For someone like my mom.
I'd like to get in on the free Canada / Mexico, but I currently have the 30GB "double data" plan. I don't want to lose that!
This is great for anyone on the current 10GB tier, though.
The BS continues.
$100 should easily get you 25GB.
The connect fees are BS. It's why I still buy iPads wi-fi only. What do you need $15 A MONTH to connect my iPad. I paid for it and you didn't subsidize it PLUS I've already paid for the gigs of data so whether I have the iPad or not, I still have my gigs of data.
US cell companies are running a racket.
The customer has always been responsible for the full price of the phone. I don't see any literal "passing" or transfer of costs, just figurative. Just visibility of costs.ATT is adjusting to Verizon as well as T-Mobile.
All the four major telecom companies are passing the smartphone cost to the customers.
$650 iPhone, we will know how this is going to impact apple bottom coming quarters.
