Hey All,
Been browsing for a while, but decided to sign up after some mild success this morning. I just thought I'd post and let people know that I decided to try out a T-mobile prepaid SIM in my iPad 4th Gen today (AT&T version which has the AWS band) and to my surprise, I saw the LTE icon for T-mobile! I have been using it on AT&T for a while, but I really want to drop AT&T as their prices aren't great for data. Anyway, can't speak to the Verizon version (which apparently supports international LTE much better), but I can confirm that a non-jailbroken iPad 4th gen from AT&T works fine on T-mobile. Just for kicks, I turned off LTE and tried it on their HSPA+ and that worked fine as well. I'm in San Jose and I guess I'm one of the lucky seven cities for their LTE service, but again HSPA+ worked fine.
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum. I know it's somewhat of a "carrier" topic, but just thought I'd share the news as I searched high and low for this information and found nothing before I tried it out. Happy to be a guinea pig
