AT&T doesn't double-credit on any number. I had already paid off my previous iPhone 13 Pro Max two months in advance, which means I won’t be receiving credit for those two months from the previous promotion. However, I successfully secured a credit-backed order for the 16PM this time around.

To clarify, you can place a new iPhone order with the 36-month credit applied only after paying off any prior promotion for the earlier device on the same number.
Well, based on the recent trade-in credits I've received for all our devices (5 family members) in 2020 and 2023, I’ve never experienced such a delay. However, I’ll keep an eye on my billing statement next week and report back here. Thanks for the heads-up!

I’ve finally completed this year’s 16PM order and trade-in, despite some confusion with the trade-in devices. Below is a part of my billing statement.

As you can see, I received two trade-in credits applied to the number associated with my 16PM order. The 36th promotional credit was from my 2021 purchase of the 13PM. When I was preparing to order the 16PM this year, I realized I had to pay off the remaining balance for the 13PM, so I paid the final two installments on 9/10/24. I placed the order for the 16PM on 9/13/24, and luckily, the 35th credit was applied in the billing statement last month.

I was expecting to lose the 36th credit, which I was fine with since I was happy to receive the 16PM on the first day without any delay (9/20/24).

However, to my surprise, both credits were applied to my promotional installments on this month’s billing statement. I’m not sure how long AT&T honors prior promotional credits when starting a new one, as I thought the new promotion would override the previous one. But I’m grateful for the result.

Since 2020, I’ve appreciated how AT&T honors their existing customers with this 36-month credit promotion.
I hope everyone receives their devices without any hassle or delays.

Thanks!

I Was watching something earlier and it mentioned iPhone 16 Pros and maybe iPhone 16 Maxs being stolen. I hope none of you who have ordered the iPhone 16 Pros or iPhone 16 Maxs don't/didn't get taken by porch Pirates. I hope once you get confirmation of when it's out for delivery, you can track it. (Like me and others who order through the carrier I have.)

The segment of the program I watched did not mention any specific carrier(s) but I assume all carriers are affected. I feel so bad for you all who are waiting patiently for your new iPhones and I really hope what I mentioned doesn't happen or won't happen to you.

Also, for what’s its worth, when I ordered my new phones online, I either didn’t have the option or see the option to turn my trade-in phones into the store directly.

I was shipped the return boxes for both phones, however, I went to a Corporate owned AT&T store and they took them without issue for the full trade-in amount of $1k per phone.

Enjoy the new phones, folks!

I will receive my iphone 16PM tomorrow. I plan to turn in my iphone 14PM to AT&T store tomorrow.
  1. Do I need to activate the new phone before turning in my iphone 14PM?
  2. Does AT&T monthly trade-in credit require activating the new phone before the credit begins?

Quote from AT&T Trade-in Program:
"...Trade-in must be completed within 30 days from start of installment plan for new Purchased device. For online orders or when device must be shipped, installment plan and 30-day Trade-in window start when the new Purchased device is shipped. "

did the local story give you a receipt that showed $1000 credit? did you activate your new phone before going to the store?

Yes, I received a printout of the receipt for each phone showing I received $1,000 for each trade-in.

I went ahead and transferred everything at home and had the phone’s completely prepared for the trade in prior to going to the store.

It took me all of 10 minutes to get in and out.

I received my iphone 16PM today but AT&T still shows that it is not shipped yet. I will bring my old phone to AT&T store tomorrow. Would this cause any concern or slow down monthly credit?

No and you should receive an email about your order being delivered later today. When the CSR at the store looks up your phone number on your Account it will show the correct status. Please make sure that you bring a photo id with you to the store.

I dropped of my old iphone 14PM at AT&T corp store today. The trade-in value shows $425 but NOT $1000. It says "up to $1000.

Does your receipt look like this?

Also, it says "We'll inspect it to make sure the item meets our return requirements after it arrives" Does it mean that there is no guarantee that I would get $1000? since it require further inspection at the warehouse?

When I dropped it off, AT&T person only check the IMEI number from my old phone. He did not ask for any ID
