AT&T iPhone 3G Upgrades and Eligibility

Now that the fray is passed, I want to buy an iPhone 2G. A friend has agreed to sell me his for $100. He switched over to the 3G.

Will I get the old pricing from AT&T? Can I set it up using an iTunes hookup at home? Do I just pop in my Sim from my Nokia? (AT&T)

Or do I have to brave the reps at the AT&T store?

And next January I will upgrade to the latest, greatest at that time.

This ATT youtube advert states that any ATT exisitng customer with an existing Iphone can upgrade for $199.00

Aplogies if you all knew it already but i was confused. I have had my iphone since launch day 6/30/07 and aparantly i can now upgrade for $199.00
