I tested my iphone 4 before activating my 4s and here are the results:

Peoria AZ
Speedtest.net Application

iPhone 4: 1.18 Mbps Down / 1.49 Mbps Up

iPhone 4S : 4.63 Mbps Down / 1.64 Mbps Up

I could not be happier. Coming from a 4 I was worried about some buyers remorse but not anymore. My mind was blown.

I saw a major increase in download speed after loading iOS5 on my AT&T iPhone 4. Using Speedtest.net, I'd been averaging 9-10 Mbps download on the iPhone, compared with 19-21 Mbps download on a laptop (same location in house, same test server). After iOS5 I just got 18-21 Mbps in 5 tests on the iPhone, Not sure what Apple did, but I'm happy with it.

I am getting around 5.21 Mbps/1.09 mbps

I'm getting 5.6 Mbps down, 1.0 Mbps up with 5 bars.

This morning the 3GS was getting 1.4/0.3.

That's 4x faster!
