Still nothing has changed on my end. 6S+ in Silver, ordered at 2:45 AM Central Time and estimate still says October 16-23.
 
Just a FYI,

I have never seen the phone number reference to work for orders other than Apple. So unless someone who ordered through AT&T confirms it works for you, then don't get discouraged just yet.

Agreed. My UPS shipment has various reference numbers, none of which are my phone number.
 
For those mad about being forced to use att.com for preorders due to wanting to do a 2 year. You make me laugh. Only because you responses to att doing this are funny.

Yes, you still have the option this year. They have announced that they are going to stop doing them altogether sooner than later (as is the direction of the entire industry).

You threaten to leave and go to t-mo. They don't do 2 years, and they started the whole thing.

You threaten to go to Verizon. They were the harshest of all regarding unlimited plans. If you had one, and wanted to upgrade, the only option was (and is for those who still have the plan) is to buy it outright and upfront). At least att hasn't effectively kicked you off of yours (and won't when 2 years go away, you will just have to add next on top of your current bill.

And for those who say they will just pay outright and not do next, you do realize that cost you more? Technically, att gives you a $50 off full retail when you do next. So go ahead and do outright, give them more money for nothing? At least next is interest and fee free.
 
Newbie here. I upgraded on another line on our account thru AT&T with my sister-in-law who lives a few hours away. The new phone shipped tomorrow is under her number. Is there anyway I can activate it without activating the iPhone 6s and then taking her that SIM card and putting my existing SIM card in the phone?

I would love it if I could just take my sim out if my iPhone 6 and place it in the new device but for some reason it seems like last year you had to initially activate with the sim car shipped in it?

Just trying to avoid a trip for her to Att store or a trip of myself taking her the new SIM card.
 
Are any of them an order number of sorts that matches anything on the ATT website?

My shipment lists three reference numbers. Two are strings of numbers, one is a combination of numbers and letters. Nothing that matches anything on the ATT status site.

i'm doing this too. im taking my moms upgrade so what i'm going to do is take out the SIM card of the iphone i have now, put it in the new device.
i'll take the new sim, put it in my old device (which is now my moms new device), and activate it that way.
basically i'm swapping the SIMS. I'm not going to turn the new phone on until i have MY sim in it so it doesn't activate her number on the new SIM.
 
Nashville TN here, ordered iPhone 6S Space Gray 64GB on launch day @ 0300.

I've had my ship notification since Monday (FedEx). Until today it said I'd have the phone by 3:00 pm Fri. Sep. 25, but today it changed to 8 pm. Rats...I leave for work at 3:15.

The option to hold at a FedEx location is grayed out. Anyone know if there's any way to have the phone held at a FedEx location?

Don't think it's possible. They have to make one attempt at delivery for security purposes. They will deliver without a signature if the driver thinks it is safe.

I'll admit I didn't get a chance to read through all 120+ pages of the thread, so I apologize if this has been answered already.

My questions is if anyone knows a way to find out what AT&T's account number for FedEx is? I am trying to get FedEx to hold my package at their place so I can pick it up after work on Friday. FedEx won't do it unless they have the shippers account number since AT&T has put a block on the shipments requiring delivery and not pickup. I tried calling AT&T but they said it is for my safety to only have it delivered to my home address, whatever that means.

Does anyone have any information about this, or other thoughts or suggestions. I have spoken to about three people at the AT&T number and they all tell me too bad. After my three delivery attempts I can pickup the package from FedEx next Wednesday. Thanks everyone!

I took the upgrade that belonged to my wife. She will take my phone now. However, they sent me a new nano-SIM card via USPS right after the preorders on the 12th. The instructions said to use that new SIM card in my old phone. The new phone would have a SIM card pre-installed. I'm sure your way will work too though.

I was wondering about my order status for..you guessed it..the new iPhone. multiple people have received their phones before me when I've ordered hours ahead of them. my status has not changed since I've purchased the phone and I'm becoming a little frustrated :(

Has anyone tried calling FedEx to have their phone held at a distribution center so they can pick it up in the morning instead of waiting for a driver to deliver it? The option is grayed out on FedEx.com, wasn't sure if AT&T requested that no changes be made. I've done this multiple times in the past but wasn't sure if something changed this time around...
 
You can find out if yours has shipped by checking both UPS and Fed Ex and selecting track by reference and then enter your phone number and shipping zip code. Neither of my Pink 6S+ 64gb phones have shipped and I've checked by using the track by reference feature and it doesn't show a label has been created either. All of the people that have received tracking so far, should of been able to track their phones that way prior to receiving tracking information.

I wouldn't get too discouraged if you can't find it that way. I have my tracking information and tried looking up my order using this method and was unable to find it. Maybe I was doing something wrong though.

I just got my shipping notice about an hour ago, but it isn't grayed out for me. It was until it updated to "shipment information sent to fedex". Maybe check back again and see if it became available?

Wont work. AT&T doesn't have a single FEDEX account. Each department has their own. (my friend works for AT&T)
