To further prove there is no reason to the madness...

I ordered on 9/12 at an AT&T store at about 4pm on next. I ordered a 6S 64gb rose gold. There's some blanks in my tracking, my phone appeared to have gone on a 7 hour field trip around Fort Worth last night, but somehow made its way to Orlando...

Mine did a 22 hour loop Monday-Tuesday and then a couple hours Wednesday. I think it was just out for some exercise, or perhaps bar hopping.
 
My 6S Gold 16Gb was scanned & Left Newark, Nj at 6:00Pm Est & delivery date is tomorrow 9/25 preordered at an At&t retail store & having it shipped there also I hope everyone gets an update soon these Phones are going to go fast with Am Walk-ins i can bet - Hope everyone gets some justice soon!
 
For anyone having problems with Preorders and not seeing and update; are yous sure that yous had funds on the debit\credit cars yous preordered with? Because they hold the payment untill its shipped so if you preorders on the 12th but spent money off the card you preordered with AFTER then maybe it was a payment issue because i spoke to at&t customer care today they will NOT ship a phone not paid for so everyone should check into that if you still have no update today at 10 Est

I thought about that already. I called customer care and they said everything is good, should ship soon. Cant guarantee tonight though.

What kind of plan you have.

I am trying to make some sense out of this situation where it seems that people who ordered later than others have received confirmation already.

Let's assume that ATT is following some preset criteria to fill preorders. (At least I hope so that ATT is filling the orders with some logic and not randomly).

Second assumption is that there are some variables beyond their control. Like the number and types of phones shipped to them. (Though again I hope that they at least know the minimum number they are going to get).

If ATT knows the type and quantity of phones received/promised and the type and numbers preordered then it should be easy to follow their own algorithm and fill the orders. Agin I hope that this is not a random process but based upon some predetermined criteria.
So far I have not been able to determine what these criteria are.
what is your or anyone's else thought on these criteria.


Here's my guess....With a rollout this massive (millions of boxes) the people doing the shipping are less concerned about the time we ordered and more concerned about efficiently filling planes leaving the AT&T shipping center to different regions of the country. The people in the warehouse aren't looking at the time on Saturday morning when we ordered, they are filling containers that are leaving for a FedEx or UPS hub. When the container is full, they ship it out. They aren't going to send off FedEx or UPS planes half full because I "deserve" to get my phone first because I ordered first. They are going to fill planes efficiently.

Now, I'm sure they are trying to fill opening weekend orders first in general and I'm sure general availability of specific models and colors play a role too, but ultimately with millions of boxes all moving at once, shipping efficiency is going to win out over who ordered first.
 
My hold expired after a week (standard) so I have been (also) obsessively checking my bank account. I have had no charge so I was getting nervous....

There seems to be no order at all to how these things are shipping, infreakingsane!

I still don't have a tracking number so who knows...
I ordered at 3:10 EST and also have no movement... Heres to hoping that perhaps we might get ours tomorrow since we ordered before the guy that was 530AM!!!

I didnt notice a charge on my account either man but i called customer care AND whent into the retail store i did the the preorder at they said it moght be delayed but if at&t sent it then youll get it 100% i already have the " Activate phone " option when i check order status on at&t website so i know it whent through

My hold fell off too with no new charge and mine haven't shipped... Who knows.
