AT&T: iPhone 6S/6S Plus Pre-Order Thread!

tax on at&t next is the sales tax for the total cost of the phone ($649, $749, or $849 depending on the size). tax on the subsidized price is tax on the subsidized price ($199, $299 or $399 depending on the size). Tax cannot be spread out. it's due immediately on any and every purchase you make. the tax difference ($75 vs. $30) is based on the price... $75 for the full cost of the phone. $30 for the SUBSIDIZED cost. Simple math.

I have a question about Next vs 2 yr and sales tax.

I was going to pre-order a 6s rose gold online for my wife but, AT&T wanted $75.00 in sales tax today, why don't they spread that out over 24 months? Had to cancel the order and wait for my next paycheck, I was expecting the $15 upgrade fee but, not the $75 tax.

Just for fun, I went back and re-did the order choosing 2 yr contract instead and the tax was only $30.00. Not doing that order either, I just wanted to see what the tax would be.

So, on Next, they collect the tax for the full retail price of the phone up front but, on 2 yr contract they only collect the tax for the subsidized priced. That doesn't make much sense to me. I just assumed that the tax would be apart of the Next monthly price, not all up front. Just took me by surprise, doesn't feel like much of a deal when there is a new surprise fee every time you click continue online.

Don't panic yet. Somewhere there is a team of people opening crates of iPhones one at a time, scanning them, and assigning them to preorders. It doesn't happen all at once, and it's clear from the responses in this thread that some models (crates) have been processed and others are still ahead.

Here's what I would do (well okay frankly this is what I am doing) - watch this thread to see when someone that ordered the exact same model that you did posts that they have their number, and if you don't also have a number within a couple hours - then you can panic.

I have seen several of my exact phone being shipped to other people. I'm saltier than the dead sea.

Hello, All! i posted this as a reply but I figured I should elaborate.
--side note, did you all see that girl that received her ROSE GOLD, yes rose gold, iphone 6S EARLY?...AND she ordered it from at&t? i'm salty
Anyways, I spoke with my UPS man and he said that AT&T is the only carrier that will ship the phones FROM the US. Meaning that they receive the phones and ship them out themselves rather than having them ship from the warehouse straight to our door. So AT&T probably has our phones at the moment and we are just patiently waiting for them to put them in the friggin mail!

Not sure if everyone knows about this, but call *6737# from the phone number you'll be upgrading. My order was stuck at "in progress". I called the number and got a text with a UPS tracking #.

Might just be a coincidence, but it's worth checking out.

Tried it and got "is in progress", no tracking number.

this is for 6s+ Space Gray, ordered 09/12/15 @ 3:03am.
