My AT&T iPhone 7 is frequently dropping signal. It'll usually retain the number of bars I have, but will lose the carrier name and LTE tag for a few seconds before coming back on. Occasionally it will go all the way down to 'No Service' before springing back up.

This whole thing happens so fast that its sometimes unnoticeable during use. But, I'll usually have to reload the content when this happens.

I've read about signal issues with the Verizon iPhone but is anyone having this problem on AT&T? I've tried resetting network settings and using LTE on "data only" but the issue remains.

It's an issue with the Qualcomm version. I had two Qualcomms and both dropped calls and had weak signals. My wife's Intel version has no issues. I just got one this weekend and it's fine too.

I'd start with swapping out the SIM card, and if that doesn't do it setup an appointment with Apple.

The OP has an AT&T phone which likely has the Intel modem.

SIM swap is a placebo. I met the same problem with Att variant of the phone. If you are in your return window simply give it back to Apple and buy SIM unlocked phone, which has Qualcomm modem.

It's definitely not the Qualcomm version unless it's just that particular phone. I have 4 Qualcomm iPhone 7s on my account and 1 intel and I have yet to have any issues with any of them.

Unless there is a wide spread AT&T issue in your area, it may be isolated to your phone.

Thanks everyone, it sounds like this issue is mainly with my phone. I'm going to call Apple when they open (argh 8 am PST) and see what they suggest

I bought my phone through AT&T's trade in promotion so unfortunately I won't able to go the SIM unlocked route. I probably won't be able to exchange it through AT&T either, now that I think about it.

I'll throw in there that on my at&t 7+ I have noticed my signal is weaker than my wife's 6s while in the same locations. Never really gave it too much of a thought since it hasn't caused me any issues.......yet

Update to 10.0.3 first. That came out today specifically to address connectivity issues.

I updated this morning and unfortunately I'm still having the same issues. I suppose I will have to call Apple after all.

I got a replacement iPhone and new SIM card, and its still dropping signal. At this point, I don't know what else to do. I suppose I'll try resetting my phone from new and see if it fixes it.
