No problem walking in with our old 5 and walking out with $200 gift card. Used it to pay my bill before we left. Took 10 minutes total.

I bought my 6 from Apple.

Does it have to be an ATT iphone or can it be a verizon or sprint iphone?

EDIT: nevermind, I saw that its a qualifying iphone from ANY carrier.

I just asked ATT C/S chat if I ordered from Apple can I still get the promotion trade in amount if I bring in my old phone and they said NO, had to be bought from an ATT store or ATT online :( I have my 6+ on backorder with Apple online.

I've called Customer Care twice and they said it can be done, even if you purchased the 6/6+ from Apple.

However, when I went to the ATT store in Burbank, they said the 6/6+ had to have been purchased from ATT. Going to try a different store later today.

I have an old iPhone 4. Is there some way I could squeeze out the $200 for this trade in for the 6? Anyone know what they would offer for it? Thanks.

Yes, ATT is offering $200 for an iPhone 4. I traded in 2 of them and got $200 each. There were the 16GB iPhone 4 models, but any iPhone 4 will get you $200.

they'll accept an iPhone 4, 4s, 5 and 5c for an att, $200 promo card. take it in.

Thanks for the quick replies but I just realized I meant to say that the home button only works if you hold it down and wiggle your thumb around till it goes. Otherwise you have to use the accessibility button to use home. Kind of forgot this key piece.

My advice is give it a shot. All they did was turn it on to get the serial number / IMEI number and I already had that screen loaded for them (Settings - General - About).

So have that screen loaded so when it turns on, they don't have to use any other buttons to move around. Maybe they will just turn it on, write down the info, and off you go.

Like some others I had no problem. Went to an Apple Store where the wait was only about 10 or 15 minutes, got my 6 (upgrade from contract to Next), and then after to the AT&T Store to trade in an old AT&T iPhone 4. The iPhone 5 from my previous contract I think I can unlock after 2 weeks and then might sell that. This might be the last time someone offers a good trade in for a 4 year old phone so I think it's quite worth it.

My wife upgraded to the 6 last week via Apple pre order and gave me her 32GB iPhone 5. So today I took my old 16GB iPhone 5 to AT&T and in less than five minutes they gave me the $200 card. Very easy and painless. My phone was giving me trouble, so glad I could get $200 for it in the condition it was. (Body scratches and terrible battery charging/life)

wish they'd take other smartphones other than iPhones. coming from a s4 to a 6 plus and would love to get some credit for my phone. but I guess I'll just sell it on craigslist

Visited my local corporate store at lunch to check iPhone 6 stock and see if they would take my 4S.
They happily took my 4S without me having to purchase anything.

They gave me a $200 card, which lasts until 2015.
The only issue is, I need to use it at the store.
I have a hard time finding $20 of value in that store, let alone $200.
The cases are all terrible and audio equipment outdated.

I don't want to apply to my bill but may have to.

I wish they would let you use it online, at least the ATT website has some decent headphones.

Picked up iPhone 6 at Apple Store launch day. Today I took my scratched and yellowing screen 4S to local AT&T and in about 10 mins had $200 credited to my account. On way out called their CS dept and had my $40 activation fee.

I'm happy :)

Ok so I have another question... haha.

My upgrade isn't till November but I want to trade in my 4 for the credit. Can I somehow trade it in and get the credit to use towards a preorder?

Went in to do it today ... had no issues ... but an AT&T rep in store basically told a lady who came in... exactly what I was doing was not allowed ... Somehow I was able to though ...

Bought 4 phones from apple all AT&T NEXT ... went to ATT and traded in 4 phones for $1000

I went and traded a IP5 in today no problem but I could only use the gift card for accessories and not towards the bill!! I took the card and walked out without buying any items.

tried it with your bill yet? ... sounds wrong any corporate AT&T store should be able to use with your bill

Does anyone know if you can trade multiple phones for one upgrade? My wife wants a new 128gb and she has her old 4 and 5. I have an old 4s sitting around. Would this be crazy out of the question?

What is everyone spending their trade in money on?

Any good finds in the AT&T stores?

Two iPhone 6's wit 64 gig each, space gray - $643. Minus $400 for two iPhone 5's. Balance on CC $243. Better than anywhere else i checked. Quick and easy was also a plus.

I want to do this too. Any thoughts? You don't have to trade in the phone that was on your line?

Also do you delete the data off your phone yourself or do the folks at the store handle that?

Also I'm assuming you need to back up everything up on Cloud first so you can transfer it to the new phone right?

Going to try to turn in my old 4. Do I just bring the phone in or do I need everything (charge cable, headphones, box)?

Nevermind, reread the thread and saw that I only have to bring in the phone.

Edit: just walked in and out in 10 with the $200 gift card.
