So you guys had no problems walking into an Apple Store and paying full retail price for an AT&T iPhone 6 WITHOUT putting it on an AT&T contract?

I've called 2 stores in Southern California (Glendale and Pasadena) about this because many stores here show stock of AT&T iPhone 6 but not the contract-free T-Mobile one. I was told by both stores they won't sell an AT&T iPhone 6 without putting it on an AT&T contract of some sort. Am I just getting unlucky at this point?
Try some other store or persuade them if you are good at it. It happens to me before. Some store just won't sell it

AT&T - is full price (unsubsidized) AT&T iPhone 6/6 Plus from Apple Store unlocked? R

I specifically asked the Apple rep in the retail store today for a unlocked Iphone 6 64 gb, he said that the ATT- no contract, t mobile, and Verizon are all unlocked. Just gave him my credit card and driver's license and walked out with 2 phones paid in full.

I bought a secondhand IPhone 6 plus through swappa.com I haven't received it yet. the phone is said to be unopened. the seller says he paid full price at the apple store under an AT&T line that he already had a next plan for? He
is sending it with the receipt. I don't understand if he paid full price why that has anything to do with his previous line, and I don't know if I should expect the phone to be unlocked.

also do I need to go though an activation process or can I just put in a nano SIM card from another ATT card and have it just work? I'm worried ATT won't allow activation process from my number since there's a pending order on it.
