No, but do IKEA and Walmart give you coupons from time to time? Also local grocery stores load coupons almost automatically onto your loyalty card. The ones here even give you gas points, and .10-$1 off of gas per gallon from time to time.
do they give coupons for completely free items with no further purchase? I think not.....

They give you a coupon bc you go in and spend more money :)

So it AT&T were to be able to buy out T-Mobile, and even Verizon where would you go for cell service? Go back to not using one? While everyone else gets to get the freedom of choosing between multiple carriers, and true competition? Why can't I take my Verizon LTE SIM card and put it into an unlocked AT&T LTE phone and have it work?

AT&T would have no business incentive to think about buying Verizon out. The differences in the two networks is not even remotely cost effective. And blame Qualcomm and other radio chipset manufactures for not having a global band LTE handset.

Thanks! :)

don't complain when Sprint starts throttling :D

So we might as well go back to not using a lot of stuff, lets start with cars, computers, airplanes and so on. Lets go back to being simpletons, and not be an advanced country at all. In fact, lets go back to not even having any of the cool stuff we have today at all! After all, we did live in the past just fine right?

That's pretty much where the lords want the rest of us. They want us to be mindless and obedient serfs to bend at their very will. It's all fine and dandy for them.

What's even more sad is that so many people are foolish enough to fall for that garbage.

Well I did get a free carton of eggs for doing nothing at all. No catch or restrictions whatsoever :). All I had to do was scan it at self checkout, and the screen literally said, Amount Due $0.00.

Funny how the software makes you go through the motions of making a payment and everything for $0.00....gave me a receipt for $0 too :)

I hate ATT because of their poor customer service. I had a customer rep hang up on me because he couldn't explain to me why I was being overcharged. He kept repeating back to me what was on the bill, which isn't what I wanted because I can clearly see the damn numbers on the bill, so I told him I know how much they want me to pay, I just don't understand why. And he said he explained it to me and there's nothing more he can do and then click.

Another instance of POOR service, I paid my bills a week before and my service gets disconnected because they claim I didn't pay my bills. When I explained to them it's been ONE week since I paid, they apologized and turned my service back on. THEN after another week passes, they disconnect me again. So I call them back and they tell me I need to pay. I explain to them AGAIN that I paid, they reconnect me back, and then charge me reconnection fee. SERIOUSLY? If my apartment building offered anything else besides ATT for internet, I would switch in an instant.

How am I supporting Fascism? Less regulation and promoting more growth in privately owned businesses goes directly against Fascism.

Private sector (aka corporations) = Oligarchy/Banana public = Fascism

(Sarah Palin accent) Simple enough for ya? ;)

State owned businesses would be Fascism. Privately owned is a completely different story. The closet thing we have to a Fascist corporation in the US is GM.

I'm sorry, is this elementary school? There is no prize box in life.

If the lack of a 'goodie' is a big enough, life-altering event to force you to change carriers, then by all means do.

While perhaps life-altering for the person involved, it is not for the rest of us. While humorous, it certainly does not necessitate a thread to showcase ones childish outlook on life.

I have been an AT&T customer for the past 10 years, since the Cingular days. My contract for my iPhone 4 is officially up tomorrow. I just got off the phone with AT&T to ask what they are going to do to keep me as a customer and everyone I spoke to just didn't try.

I mentioned over and over that my biggest disappointment was in regards to the "unlimited" data plan that I am currently on and two of the reps I spoke to put me on hold to verify this with their supervisor. Seriously, how can anyone working for them not know about this? I was then told that I could switch to a tiered plan at full speed..... yeah right.

After being passed around from rep to rep, the best offer I received was 6 months of free unlimited texting, that's it. Anything else was just a sales pitch for something I didn't want or need.

An experience like mine is why AT&T is going to lose customers like me when the next iPhone is released.

I've heard this from Verizon customers and Sprint customers as well.....

So you want something for being a simi long time customer. What about others that want something as well ? What about others that have been with AT&T even longer than you, now wanting something better than what you get if it came to this since they have been around longer ? Give it a break. They will let you go and not worry about it, since others will come to them from other Carriers. Go the Verizon and see how far you get for being a so called long term customer. I haven't received a darn thing for my long term status.

LOL op you act as if other cellular companies are better than AT&T...i used to have verizon and it was TERRIBLE!!! They had terrible customer service, and over charged me for everything! Switching to AT&T was the best cell decision i have ever made! Every single company out there has people like you: those who expect "freebies" for being with a company for years...I have filled up gas at BP gas stations for years now! Should it be expected that i receive free gas from them?

Theres a difference between a customer wanting something and a company being expected to offer something...i cant expect toyota to give me a new car because ive been with them for xx years...

It's the other way around. Fascist corporations tend to buy up the commons. It's happening now where cities in 'merica are going bankrupt then being bought up by the very creditors that got them in that mess in the first place.

Watch the movie Robocop where OCP bought up the city of Detroit as an example of this.

I never said I was going to Verizon.

Sadly, I agree. I pulled a rage-quit on Verizon a little over 3 years ago. I ate some early termination fees (4 line family plan), but paid willingly to put them behind me.

Far from being rewarded for being a long term customer, I was punished.

While brand new customers were able to buy a Droid on launch day, I was told I couldn't. I had the money in my pocket to pay full retail ($750 I think) because my 2 year contract wasn't quite up yet. I had seen the reports about the original Droid, and was quite excited about getting my first smartphone.

They told me "Droid is for new Verizon customers only at this time" and flat out refused to sell it to me at any price. I got home, wrote to VZW support to make sure this was their policy and was told the same thing - it was a corporate directive. Still have the email from them.

So a new VZW customer could walk in and get the phone on launch day, but after being their customer for 5 years, I couldn't get one no matter how much money I offered.

No soup for you, I guess. At the time, I was pretty angry about how I'd been treated. After thinking it over, I drove over to AT&T, bought four iPhones for my family on the spot, and I haven't looked back. Great decision in the end - I've now owned the 3GS, the 4 and the 4S. Can't wait for the next one.

Verizon doesn't try either.

Actually, as you know, that is location dependent. For me AT&T is the better carrier on my 3GS with zero dropped calls at home. On my 4S on Verizon, I can't even make call without it dropping. I'm canceling Verizon as soon as I can afford the ETF. I'm using the AT&T upgrade for the new phone.

If you complain to them and can prove that their coverage map for your are is not as described, you can get out of your contract without ETF.

There's enough mindless noise on both sides of the scale, actually. IMO, it's the fault of the 24hr. news networks drumming up stories where there are none more than anything else (be they liberal or conservative).

Way to rant and go off-topic in your own thread, BTW.

I know people in different regions call into different call centers but I'm in south and I always get good customer service when I call AT&T. I have never had them argue with me about a fee or anything that I've called in about. When I called to cancel a line they ended up giving me a cheaper plan that worked out perfect for me. I will say I'm really disappointed in the 3G facetime decision but other than that I've never had much of a problem with AT&T. I can't honestly say I would use facetime that much over 3G if I could but I would really like the option to be there for trips. It’s just wrong to make people switch to a really expensive plan just to use 1 feature. Even if they kept facetime off the 3 gig plan they could at least put it on the 5 gig plan that comes with tethering. The family share plan is just not reasonable for most people who only have 2 to 4 lines.

Right wing and fascist? Are you sure. That's almost dividing by zero.

Fascism is a far left ideology. Anarchy is a far right ideology.

And ATT just saved me about $30 a month with their new share plan, so I like them just fine right now.

You guys would be surprised at the small amount of people who threaten to leave and actually do.

I agree with this. They no longer fall flat to the cry wolf scenarios because their subscriber base is only growing not shrinking.

However, I did say I would leave, and I did. Other lines to follow suit shortly.

To the OP, I don't know why you would expect anything though. We were customers for 5 years and I don't expect a discounted service, ect.

I don't see how you were mistreated and why you deserve special treatment

I was just reading on but I have to chime in on this one... I JUST switched to AT&T last night! The manager, sales guy, and the overall store experience was fine..anyway, same differences apply anywhere. But OH MAN, I actually hit my hand on my car console in absolute disgust at this complete idiot I had on the phone over at the beautiful world of ATT customer service... I don't want to ramble but it was ridiculously bad... I have to believe this girl was LEGITIMATELY high right there over the phone, no exaggeration.. she was mumbling on about looking over my account, after I had some questions about changing my new plan over to a different shared data tier, etc...I was so shocked I couldn't let go, and just sat there listening to her go on... I just interrupted her and said I had to go...

Anyway, that was the first one... then another call, which I'm pretty sure was routed over to the Philippines, while I have no problem with this... just that s again, another example of horrible training, lack of intelligence....basically asked me to hold 5 or so annoying times...

I've dealt with Dell tech support for instance, where basically all of my calls were routed to Indian call centers, but these guys are TRAINED... excellent english speaking skills, intelligent, they just know what's going on, overall they're completely "on top of it." Finally a 3rd call to ATT, again was routed overseas quite obviously, but this girl (again) obviously had more experience, but the language barrier was a bit rough. No news here, but the ABSOLUTE stark difference between what I experienced in comparison to Verizon CS was baffling... I know, another rant, blah, I've seen plenty of posters get flamed on for complaining about this or what, but no joke, the difference is huge. After that experience, I basically had the gut feeling of "oh man, I gotta port back to verizon right now." Just can't do it, even after 12 years being with Verizon, their service has gone abysmal in my home area.. both at my house, and the surrounding neighborhood. I will miss the call quality and CS, but oh well, it will be an adjustment.

So much for not wanting to ramble. :p

Back to the OP... I live by the motto, if you don't ask you'll never know. What's the harm in asking for a loyalty program your particular rep may not be aware of or a special offer that can be passed on to you. Why should someone with outside the box thinking not try to ask for some sort of perk that the uninitiated might forgo because it's not stated in black and white in their contract. No thanks I will stick with my approach and ask for a sweetener to almost any deal I make... In some countries it's an insult to not haggle over a price.

You might want to take a look at a poli-sci book, I'm pretty sure you have those reversed.

That depends on who wrote the book, and this is a topic of hefty debate among some academics.

Though, it's pretty obvious that fascists have more in common with Bolshevism than Ron Paul.
