AT&T just ****ed me.. iphone 4 delays

I don't believe much from Gizmodo. But did you actually read the article or just the headline?
First, any article that actually uses the word 'cluster****' is suspect.
Second, down in the fine print is this:
We will see on the evening of the 24th...but I supsect there will be a lot of happy people playing with their new shiny toys. Most of this is whining and not understanding what it's like to ship a half million items in a single day.

I dont recall ATT ever committing to a delivery date.
I don't see why everyone get so mad over a phone. Waiting for a week is not even that big of deal...
People are just so immature these days. This is nothing to curse about.

If you can't stand to wait until early July but can stand to wait in a line for hours and hours, I would suggest you go wait in line without canceling your pre-order. If you manage to get an iPhone 4 on launch day by waiting in line at a retail store, then go ahead and cancel your pre-order.
Even it if is bunch of lies, this does sound like what your would do if your iphone 4 was delayed. You sound like a person who knows absolutely nothing about waiting.
You seem like cooled off now, but when you pre-order, I think you were ready to break your monitor. You sound like someone who has a serious temper.
Couldn't be further from the truth IRL.. No temper whatsoever, I'm a push over..
Just a tidbit frustrated.. I was polite talking to the agents, just the usual inquiries which go unanswered about how it's crazy that no one can talk to anyone else at AT&T, and that there is a department that knows what place in line my phone is, and how many phones are going out for delivery on 24th and 25th. The fact that no one shares any info is just frustrating..

OP, I can definitely understand your frustration...I got up at 4 AM and tried, didn't get it through until 7:30 AM only to have Chase flag it as fraudulent (which is why my order status says it's still processing). Some people are enthusiasts and get pissed by such a messed up pre-order process. I work in supply chain mgt and anyone who's even had 101 on the subject can see why this is so aggrevating. Everyone and their mother knew how big this would be; this is just an instance of poor sourcing and planning in some departments (see the stories on LG display shortages now) and poor site infrastructure. Bottom line, if I'm going to sit in front of my computer for hours trying to get through website meltdowns to finally order my phone (which oh by the way, I'm paying $200/300 for) it better damn well be at least processed/shipped somewhere close to the stated date (I'm speaking in generalities, since my shipment was delayed because of Chase's overzealous fraud dept)
For all you out there in this boat call 866 499 8008 and have them check your order status. The woman was actually able to tell me how soon my phone would actually be picked up by fedex (I'm #358 in line, which isn't bad considering the hundreds of thousands of orders)

You could be like me and have your order ready to ship and as soon as it's about to ship, your order gets cancelled and now you are committed to a 2 year upgrade for a phone that you cannot get. Man such big problems waiting until the 5th. I so wish I could walk in your shoes for this one case.

If you do decide to cancel your AT&T order, I wish you the best of luck. I tried last year several times but was always told that I could not cancel the order. They told me I would have to wait for the phone to come in and then do a return on it.
