I think messaging plans are just a rip off and are pure profit for the providers so I don't think this is a deal at all. They should include it in data that we pay for instead of making messaging separate since it's data any ways. why would anyone sign up for this when you can use messaging apps for free or just use facebook.

Because it might be annoying to the person you are texting to have to store two different numbers. Also, not everyone has a smartphone. These plans apply to every phone

While I completely agree that they are a rip off, its just not convenient to give people multiple numbers or email addresses or screen names to reach me at. I just kind of consider it a necessary evil.... one that costs me $60 less a year now
