Sure it can be fixed, people just need to realise it's a mess.

That's pretty much what my first comment that you replied to suggested. Vote out the cretins that legislate for the lobbyists, and vote in someone that isn't corrupt. Remember, there is no such thing as "deregulation," removing some regulations designed to protect consumers is the same as putting in regulations to support the corporations.

I appreciate your opinion. I did this. I have a contract... with an ETF.. I paid 699 up front with no payments and now have to pay an additional 20 line access fee... it was not a great deal, and I was lied to.. so this plus the admin fee is why I am looking to switch.
Seriously? I must have missed this as I've been looking for an iPhone X deal for ages that wasn't a BOGO deal. I don't need another line.
Was this an AT&T promo or done through a third party like Amazon or Best Buy?

How about get rid of the de facto 2 party system.

"This is a standard administrative fee across the wireless industry, which helps cover costs we incur for items like cell site maintenance and interconnection between carriers."

LOL. What's next? A fee to maintain AT&T's wireless industry lobbying group?
BS, Administrative fees shouldn't go towards infrastructure, what are they doing with the revenue from main bill then ? revenue from main bill should go towards infrastructure development, administrative fee is BS way of raising prices.

Only in the United States and maybe Germany would nonsense like this be permitted.

See you don't understand how trickle down economics work, when corporations make more money they hire more people, which creates more jobs and less people dependent on food stamps, its all proven theory.
Sarcasm...

Millennials: "How dare companies only pay their employees $15 an hour! That's not a livable wage! Let's vote people in to make a law to force companies to pay more!"

Also Millennials: "Wait, you mean us customers have to pay these increases?"

There is no similarities/relation between tacking administrative fee and minimum wage, AT&T should have increased the plan price if they want to make more money because they increased salaries to their employees, and I am sure most of AT&T employee other than working in callcenters are not being paid minimum wage.

However, the president does appoint the chair of the FCC. I’m not saying this directly causes price increases, but policy and regulation changes by the FCC will ultimately have impact on customers and providers.

I don't think even FCC has control over it, people should vote with their wallet, Government can control competition between wireless operators by making broader policy changes, but they can't control pricing directly. FTC might be able to investigate this because they are indirectly increasing the plan price, this hurts people who are on contract, because they didn't sign up for increase in administrative fees.

It was through AT&T. I don’t really think it was a deal though, not for me anyways. If you happen to already have an ‘unlimited’ plan it may work out for you, however I am not sure if they are still doing it.

How about get rid of the de facto 2 party system.

I think the problem is how elections are held, not the number of parties.

We really have a 4 party system with general elections held after an elimination round called primaries - each of the 2 major parties have 2 distinct camps of their own within. The conservative corporatists and the white nationalists duke it out while the socialists fight the progressive corporatists. The winners of that round face each other in a general election. Typically it ends up being corporatist vs corporatist, except sometimes not. This system encourages identity politics and discourages cooperation.

Personally, I think there should be no primaries - go straight to a general election where rank-choice voting is used. It would encourage cooperation and compromise among the candidates, and party affiliation would matter a lot less.

T-Mobile has tons of buy one phone get second one free, so you will not do too badly. On top of that, as OldSchoolMacGuy explained, you can walk away from AT&T with the phones as well which is far better than carrier freedom. Worth a shot to see if its real if you're motivated to change from AT&T.However, if you really have 10 phone lines, that might be why as that's a huge pain in the butt to move, I know I wouldnt want to deal with it (gosh 10 lines one account, you either have way too many kids or are sharing with multiple people, kudos on able to deal with those logistics :) )

No, once again, that is incorrect.

You might be able to get out of the CONTRACT, but you do not get to keep the phones with payments that need to get be paid off. You will no doubt either be forced to pay the fee, the phones will be locked (i.e. not used on any carrier), or you will go into collections.

Did you see posted how much PROFIT AT&T rakes in?? They make that much cause they charge a lot more than other carriers.

Curious, does that include roaming for everything across the entire EU?
Off course I know how much profit they, it’s a business not a charity. I don’t see people like you bitching about amazon making money at the expense of retail.

I am not convinced, I prefer a system with multiple parties, a 2 party system is just black or white/1 or 0.
2 is just too few.
I'll leave it here, thanks for the posts though.

TMobile! $30 per line. FLAT! What's even sweeter is they're still not charging me after the three free months for an Apple watch I have on the account.
That can be cut way down, too, if you know how to play it right. $123/month for 5 voice lines (2 with T-Mobile One Plus), 1 Apple Watch, 2 iPads, and 1 digits line. All unlimited of course. Oh, and the free Netflix. Would be hard to beat that.

Nice. Still nice to have the $30 a month free without even trying.

Consumer Reports started today a campaign against hidden fees by ISP Comcast (and others).

Called AT&T and they were fine with me cancelling and didn't try to offer any concessions....after 13+ years with AT&T, I just moved to T-Mobile.

Yes, I think I can use up to 12GB of 4G while in the EU per a month. Also includes Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
