The idea that AT&T would "suffer" financially by offering people an upgrade after just a year...is a joke.

You have to love some of you all telling everyone to just shut up and take whatever AT&T gives you. How DARE you not like AT&T's policies! You should take your business elsewhere! Even if there isn't an actual rival company in your area or one that doesn't have the same slimy policies!

Agree. I bought my iPhone 4 on 8/2010. It listed full upgrade as 1/2012 after I bought it. Then in October, it changed to the one year, full upgrade 8/2011.
Now after my preorder it is back to 5/2013, I hope to have it back to 10/2012 after a few months.

I highly doubt it with new policy. You were grandfathered in after you initiated this upgrade you can't get 12 month upgrades anymore.

as a correction to every who says its always been the rule

The rule actually was based off of a few things, the first your payment history if you pay on time you get faster upgrades, the 2nd how much u brought in to att in MRC. If you main line generated over 100 dollars a month in revenue you got an upgrade every 12 months at the full discount. In about may or June of this year att changed their policy to a standard 20 month upgrade for all customers no matter the MRC. No exceptions will be made next year when the new iPhone launches. The iPhone isn't att cream of the crop anymore it has stepped up its game in landing other great smart phones. Its now a standard across both att and verizon. BTW pleople who got 12 month upgrades this year were grandfathered into the old program until you decided to sign a new 2 year agreement at atts new terms and conditions.

That's pretty much what I said thanks for adding.

What about early partial $250 + upgrades? Can one upgrade in 12 months provided they pay $250 + $199 in the future?

early upgrades with the 250 dollar premium are provided 6 months into your current contract, which means if you upgrade in 10/2011 you'll be eligible for a partial discounted upgrade in april of 2012
