Friend, as I mentioned before, I'm not telling you to not have a sense of humor, nor do I expect some statement of contrition, but know that you opened the door to someone else possibly having issue with your comments.

I agree that we don't need to have some long, drawn out series of dueling posts over this, but facetious or not, sometimes words can spark unintended or undesired responses.

BTW, you're no mentally deranged psychotic bastard to me. :)

I see where you're coming from. Settled it is.

I'll give you all an update. AT&T called apple and I have a apoitment at the bar tomorrow. The girl from apple, who was very nice told me they would most likely exchange my phone. I'll let you all know what happens. Thanks for the advice.

What a difference a day makes, Apple exchanged my 3 month old phone for a new one and ATT is sending me some updates for my sim card. I told them I was have a bunch of GSM noise when the phone was next to any kind of speaker. It's doing it restore and i took the sim card out for 20 seconds we shall see what happens.

I think it is strange how quickly Apple will exchange a phone. We should do a poll, how many have had to exchange an iphone for what ever reason?

Well, I went on ATT.com this morning and changed my plan to the new $99 unlimited. It kept my existing data services ($20 + the $10 bump for more texts). HOWEVER, it doesn't take effect immediately. It says it'll take effect on 2/29, a week from now.

Not sure if this is just because this is a brand new plan, or if ATT's back end systems simply suck. But coming from TMobile, where switches were instantaneous, this is disappointing...

Anyway, I'll now pay $130/mo for unlimited voice and data, and practically unlimited texts. That's down from $140/mo for 4000 minutes. I'm pretty happy about that!

Family Plan - Not

I have a Family Plan (2 Iphones) with 2100 minutes.

Called AT&T to get details on the $99.99 unlimited.

Answer was I would have to get the $99.99 plan for EACH phone PLUS add back in the data plan!!!

This would mean an increased in monthly cost of about $60!!

Oh well, makes you want to unlock your phone!

i was about to change my plan to the unlimited voice plan today. but i rather save a bit of money. and also my girlfriend (well me actually) bought a gophone today so i can talk to her during the weekdays and not use my minutes XD.

Why would you want unlimited calls on your iphone? My iphone sounds like crap and i can never get a signal, I drop call constantly, it is a complete nightmare, I live in South Florida, anyone else have this problem? Don't get me wrong it does some cool things and it's a great ipod but as a phone, come on? I drop calls on I-95, in Miami Fort Lauderdale home to 5,000,000 people.

I live in South, FL and i have had no problems at all with the iPhone!! I even find AT&T EDGE faster here than anywhere else i have been, especially not where you are in Ft Lauderdale. You shouldn't be talking on the phone on i-95 anyways, we dont need more bad drivers there :p

I live in Marana and work all over Tucson. I have had ZERO issues and virtually no dropped calls in my 6 months of iPhone use. In fact, it has been the best phone I've used to date for signal and lack of dropped calls. I even got a weak signal at Rose Canyon near Mt Lemmon and was able to make calls.

I would say you either live in a dead zone or have a bad phone that needs to be replaced under warranty.

Well, my wife also has an iPhone and it is equally bad in similar locations. Many dead spots in Tucson!

Just wondering, does this also apply to Gophone plans?

I am wondering the same thing because I want to upgrade my plan but don't want to use one of the existing gophone plans if there is an unlimited deal available. If someone knows, please share with the rest of us.

same problems

I have the same problem...dropped calls all over the area and hard to hear. I live in the Los Angeles Ca.

$99 sounds like a good deal if:
You have no land line
You run out of your allotted minutes each month

Me . . . . I am hard pressed to use my rollover minutes before they expire :p
