Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while in this thread thought I'd finally give my update

I ordered a 64GB 6+ Space Grey on the AT&T site about 10 mins before it opened up saying 14-21 business days.. Got my first confirmation email at 2:52am eastern or 11:52 pm pacific.. then another email came "Your order status" at 3:09am eastern or 12:09am pacific, showing the 10/2-10/13 dates..

At 9am eastern or 6am pacific I got the AT&T text saying order processed & sent to warehouse for shipment

Sunday 9/14 my order switched to back ordered for a few hours then back to the 10/2 date range by evening.

Haven't budged since, got the reaffirming order status email on Thursday with the same 10/2 dates..

I'm not a premiere customer, my order right now just says "preparing to ship"

Order number starts with 1626.. I'm in Northern New Jersey

I am word for word the same...but down in Long Branch, NJ.

I feel like an idiot for cancelling my AT&T order and proceeding with Apple.com.

Apple says 10/13 - 10/21. It hasn't changed since Saturday. :)


You reordered through apple? I would only cancel my preorder if I could reserve one in store or knew they had one and could get there within 5 minutes to pick one up.

I'm scared stock will run out as I order after canceling my pre-order. So then I end up with nothing.

Me too, i went today to my local ATT store, i wasn't able to hold one of the +'s yet, and everyone has been telling me that it was too big! So i went today with plans of canceling and getting the 6.... But HELL NO! The 6+ Is the right one so I'm not canceling! Even two of the store managers told me that i should not cancel with that delivery date since their backorder starts from november to december!

Me too. Especially since there doesn't seem to be *any* inventory of *any* color/storage combo of the 6+ in the 2 Milwaukee area stores. I've been checking constantly for the last 3 days...

Go to apples website tomorrow and try to buy the phone you want. At the bottom/middle you'll see something that says pickup in store or something. Click it, and type in your zip.. it will tell you what store has what.. try different colors/sizes to find out what they have.

If they have it you can call AT&T quickly and cancel your preorder.. within moments you will be eligible to reserve the iPhone you want in Apples store (assuming it was available before you cancelled) and then just go pick it up.

I'm not an authorized user of my account. My father is and he's currently out of the country for business. I've asked him to make me an authorized user but he's busy with work.
 
I'm waiting on a 64gb sg plus. Expected 10-2/10-13 as much as I'm disappointed i never was promised a launch day delivery anyway.
I picked up a 6 at best buy in the meantime thinking I would just cancel the plus and although it's a beautiful phone I've come to realize that I have to have that big beautiful screen.
I'll try to be a little more patient. But I haven't noticed many SG + shipping at all.


I would urge anyone who can cancel do so. I did and pre ordered the plus through the apple app for an in store pickup. I had a ship date of October 12-23. I now have my old plus in hand. Good luck guys.

I would say only do so if you can "borrow" another line to do this. That way, you won't potentially end up with nothing. I can't do that in my situation. So I will be waiting. Sucks. But that's life sometimes. Or rather, that's AT&T all the time.

I thought about doing that, but I'm premier. I Can't cancel my order for some "premier" reason - like the order is already in place or some crap.

I called my local (65 miles away) apple store and because I'm premier, I cannot buy direct from apple. I have to go through ATT.

Apple will hold the phone for you but when they get your premier account info, during the sale, they can't sell you the phone. Did this 3 years ago, got burned ( because of the miles & not getting a phone). I called and talked to apple last night, and this is still the case for me.

Would have hoped things would have changed.

In theory, this is great advice. In practice, not so much. No color / storage combos of *any* IP+'s have been in inventory at any of the Apple Stores in Milwaukee or Chicago. I've tried them all many times over the last 3 days. Trust me. Unless there's a magic inventory replenishment time I've been missing each day?
 
One scenario I don't think many people, or any have mentioned. It seems that most of the phones shipped today were Silver 128GB, 16GB, 64 GB.

It seems to me that maybe these planes only have one type of phone on them. It would make sense that Apple's production schedule calls for them to make say 200k 128GB, 200k 64GB, and 100k, 16GB in a day. Then ship them off, in a recurring fashion. The next day they may produce SG in those sizes, the next Gold. I read that they're making 500k per day.

I fully expect that those people who aren't getting the 64GB SG is due to the fact that Apple hasn't produced them and got them on a plane yet. The way everything has been going down here over the last few days leads me to believe that the SG people are next, because Saturday saw a lot of Gold, Sunday saw a lot of Silver, so SG seems to be on deck!

Sure do hope all of you get them soon. As I posted way back mine shipped this morning at 10AM, got confirmation a few hours later. Silver 128GB 6+

I think there were reports of 1AM Saturday where some stores showed store pick up as available.

Get his login info for online. It's so easy to do; I added my parents to my account since they wanted to upgrade and I'm always out on travel.
 
Sadly I've read every post of this thread =) Am I the only one who hasn't received any communication from AT&T since my email confirmation and text message on the 12th? I ordered my 128 SG @ 2:45am Friday morning. I've checked my status from time to time and I'm in the 10/2-10/13 group. I want to check if I've got a tracking number, but am afraid of the letdown if I don't yet so I'm holding out =)

I haven't received anything from AT&T since the double set of text messages at 10:48 am on 9/13. I ordered the same phone as you @ 3:05 am EST, email confirmation @ 4:43 am. I was in the 10/13 - 10/22 group. Now I'm in the 10/2 - 10/13 group.
I have a bad feeling mine won't ship until after the 2nd, but I guess you never know. Yes, I'm a premier customer.
