I thought the same. I used an Amex card with no limit which I've NEVER had an issue with before. Premier also didn't let you change the shipping address so it HAD to be the same as the billing address. Pretty sure AT&T Premier is just clueless. Unfortunately for me.

Do you see $1 charge(s) pending in your amex account?

I called and add a separate shipping address, where iPhone will be delivered. just in case. Never saw the Attention sign
 
Yup. Same boat as everyone in here. "Everything is fine with your order and you will get an email if any more information is needed." We will see, but I doubt it.

If it stays this way until Friday, since no order is actually in the fufillment system for me (ie I can still upgrade according to the OLAM), I might just go into the store and try to get one.
 
Ppl who get an "attention" sign i highly recommended u to call the premier line n talk to a representative. I ordered my phones at 5 am est on the 7th n and i got the attention sign couple of hrs later. I tried to ask many ppl here but none of them replied and helped me(i guess none of them had the same issue..). So i called them around 3pm, n finally spoke to one of the rep after several tries, the guy on the phone was really helpful!!!!!!!!! He pointed out that my prob was that i have diff name on the account holder(my husband) and the credit card(me), so they wouldn't be able to run the credit check, they had to cancel my order n i had to order again with only one person's name. Now i can my status as "pre-order"~hopefully i can get it by the 14th~

so ppl who get the "attition" sign must had sth going on with their account, just be patient n keep calling. Good luck!

Well this would actually make sense. I'm an "authorized user" but not the account holder on my account and I used my credit card. At this point, there is no chance of me getting it by the 14th if I cancel and re-order so I'll just make a big stink if there is an issue once it's finally approved.

Oh wow, good advice. I am on my wife's account and used my credit card. Didn't even think that would cause issues. So do I need to call them back and point this out? I am guessing there is nothing they can do and it will get cancelled on its own eventually anyways. I might just leave it and try later.

I knew it had something to do with ordering and account info not matching.
 
One would think that all reps should know this answer and have a way of fixing it. I'd also think AT&T would make this known when placing an order to begin with. What a cluster *******.

Well if you are going to preorder it on the web anyway i really suggest u call them n cancel ur order, at least u can reorder from either apple or at&t...

Okey dokey here is my situation and I'll pass it on in case someone is in the same boat.

I added a line through Premier on Friday and ordered the 4s on it. I received a confirmation Friday and was able to check the status over the weekend and it showed as pre order. This morning when I checked, it did also have the little red ATTN flag. I finally was able to get through after an hour and a half on hold and they said that anyone who added a line through Premier had to have their identify verified. They put me through to billing where I had to answer some random personal questions. They then spoke to the rep who I initially spoke to (who was also listening in on the call) and told her that everything was fine and to proceed with the order.

Before I hung up I did ask if this put me at the back of the pre order line and she said no, that this was independent of that and orders were being processed in the order they were received. Whether this is true or not I will know in the next few days when I get shipping info but that is what I was told.

I feel for you guys. I had this happen to me last year and it was not fun dealing with AT&T's customer service. In the end, I got my iPhone as expected on launch day, but it was a fiasco trying to get an accurate status of my order through AT&T's premier site. "Premier" is really a misnomer.

Can you explain what happened last year? Did you have the "attention!" symbol and did you ever find out why?

When I called, they basically said there is no order to be found in the fulfillment system, and no idea why it is stopped at Attention! There is nothing wrong with the credit card info from what they can tell. If they need something, we will get an email with more information.

Otherwise, since no order has actually been placed taking our upgrade credit and nothing has been charged, I am free to get a phone in the store on Friday or order from elsewhere.

Sure...I dug up a lot of my posts from last years' order thread. Keep in mind that this isn't even all of them. I dug up some of the more informative and humorous posts! :D

Just spoke with another Supervisor. According to her, she is as high as they go up the management chain and she has absolutely no contact with the people that process orders. :rolleyes: I found that really hard to believe. I had her itemize the reasons why my order may not go through and why it would be flagged with that Attention! status and one by one, we ruled them out (correct address, credit card authorization went through, I'm eligible for upgrade, etc). So after ruling all of those reasons out, I asked her again why my account is being flagged. She didn't have a good answer.

After going back and forth a bit, she told me that my order will not be processed today. I asked her how she knew that if she had no contact with the other processing department? She got really flustered and realized that she just got caught in a lie. Then she said, "I mis-spoke. I'm not sure when it will go through. They have to process hundreds of thousands of these manually". I have a difficult time believing that they are manually processing all of these orders.

In a polite and professional manner, I respectfully told her that I'll remain on hold until someone could help me. She said "Fine, you will probably be on-hold all day". I told her that would be fine. :) After 45 minutes of being placed on hold, she finally came back and told me that my order status has been changed without needing any additional information or verification from me. I looked and it did get changed! Apparently she did have some contact with the processing department. :)

All in all, that took exactly 3 hours and 30 minutes to get resolved.

Readers Digest Version: When you call AT&T support, BE PERSISTENT, I mean relentlessly persistent LOL

LOL It wasn't coincidence. I was constantly refreshing and it changed and as soon as it changed the supervisor returned from putting me on hold to confirm the status change.

I told my wife "See it pays to be a persistant SOB!". She said "Yah just don't ever try pulling that persistence on me or I'll slap the $h1t out of you" LOL

Yah, I called and got the same status message. Thank God I got rid of that damn Attention! status. That thing was driving me NUTS! :eek: :D

I'm glad that I stayed on the phone as long as I did. I wasn't hanging up until I saw that status change and wasn't taking no for an answer. I was never rude or anything, but I know how to say the right things to get it done. ;)

Well, what's weird though is after my 3 and a half hour long phone call yesterday, I got them to change my status from Attention! to processing, so the last update date was changed to 6/17 (which makes sense). What doesn't make sense to me is why it got changed again to 6/18 today because nothing else changed (that was visible to me anyways).

On the regular status page, it shows my stuff as backordered.



This sounds like Castaway 2 in the making. My prediction is that the Fedex flight is going to go down, but Tom Hanks' character survives on some deserted island with 600,000 iPhones floating around. :eek: :p


Yah, it seems as if we can throw out the time people submitted their order because there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to the sequence people's orders are getting processed.

I ordered before a lot of people that have posted on the 15th, but mine still says backordered. Even though on the Premier site it says I ordered on the 15th, the regular status page says my order was submitted on the 17th. I could care less other than I hope I get my phone on either the 24th or 25th. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride because this is completely out of our control at this point. :cool:

Unfortunately, mine really is still back-ordered. Even if my phone wasn't going to ship until the 25th, what's killing me is NOT KNOWING and AT&T not being able to provide ANY up-to-date information on my order. My order has been sitting in the same back-ordered status for 5 days now.

FINALLY got TRACKING #S. They don't work, but at least I got them.


AT&T has a lot to learn about doing things in a systematic, logical process oriented work-flow.

But if you wanted AT&T to pick you random numbers for the lottery, I think they'd do a good job at that.

Well I do know that I am not going to fight on the phone for hours to get this cleared up. At this point, if it ships for Friday, then great. If not, I only hope it will be cancelled or sit on Attention! so I can order through Apple.com. I'd rather wait a couple weeks than deal with AT&T sales again.

Edit: Holy karma. Right after I wrote this, the Attention went away when I checked. It now has an update of October 10th. Not sure what this means yet, but looks like I am stuck in the system now.

The attention! mark went away for me too! It officially changed to pre-order with a check mark! Looks like I'm good to go!!
