AT&T preorder live now

I got the second email that says:

Great news! We have your iPhone order and it is expected to be delivered on 9/19/2014
 
No e-mail, no $1 charge, no update on upgrade eligibilty. All I have is a order # from the confirmation page. Making me a bit nervous.
 
Ordered at 2:51 am. Received email. Can find order on my att account online. My cc shows charge already.

Just noticed my order confirmation page is blank where the shipping estimate should be...

We process all orders on a first-come, first-served basis1. Your order is estimated to ship on or about 2. Please allow 7 to 10 business days after that for delivery.

I have an order number but I'd feel a lot better if I received an email!

I'm not one to judge what other people buy but did you compare doing a 2 year contract vs next with all those phones? You're paying an extra $100 a month ($2400 over the life of the contract) since you're not taking advantage of the mobile value plan discounts.

Edit - just did the math. Looks like you're paying an extra $680 after the end of two years with the two-year contract plan.

Honestly don't even know how that works. I just wanted to get an order in asap. Would I have to buy the phones outright to get that mobile value plan discount? How does that work?

Seems like it would take me 18 months of savings to make up the difference, is that correct? Sounds tempting but I don't have over $3,000 right now to buy the phones outright.The $600 savings would be nice I just don't have that kinda cash to burn through at this moment.

Credit card was already charged 51 dollars for taxes. Tried canceling the pre-order but it refuses to let me. Going to call in the morning and hope to hell I can cancel.

Same thing here. Upgraded 4 lines on my family plan. All went thru nice and quick, order numbers on all but no confirmation.
 
Confirmation Email

Ordered through AT&T's site, got the confirmation email. Order status for delivery date says pending but page before said delivered on or around 9/19...

No - you can use the AT&T next program. I imagine you can change once you get the phones if you decide to.

My simple math shows that the 2-year plan ends up costing $680 more after the 2 years are up.

The only reason I even noticed is because I was trying to figure out the same thing myself...ended up purchasing through next as I end up saving over $300 after it is all said and done.

my first order went through fine. now trying to upgrade the other lines, but att removed all of their upgrade eligibilities. so even if I can access the site, it says I'm not eligible to upgrade.

what a mess.

Odd. I upgraded two of my lines, got the confirmation, but it's still showing the two lines as eligible. No email confirmation yet though, and I still can't look up the status. Do have the $1 charges on my credit card
 
about how long after ordering did it take to receive confirmation email? i see the $1 charge on my card already but no email after about 15 min so far

I ordered it around 3:15... still no confirmation email yet.
 
I ordered two lines - one I got a confirmation email almost immediately and can check the order status the other I got no email and no change to upgrade eligibility - only a pending charge on my card (2 pending charges in total). Hopefully they both went through.
 
NEXT vs Contract

I do not understand this NEXT installment plan. It seems that you would be paying well above the price if you select the 2 year contract. I tried to go with the 2 year contract but it said that it would void the share plan that we currently have.

I guess I'll be going to the Apple store on the 19th to purchase a Leather and Silicone case.
