Att

OMG....I would NEVER take information as fact from an "ATT customer service agent". I have received so much wrong info or even been dare I say lied to, I would never trust what a random ATT rep said.

Not to mention, the service reps are so far down the chain of command, they would not have info on when the next iphone is being released.

Not only that, most of them aren't even actual ATT employees.

I still say the update is moving to Jan.

I'll be happy to wait until Aug/Sep for the iPhone 5, my 3GS is struggling these days (I've been eligible for a upgrade for three months now) but I'm willing to wait longer.

I'm actually glad that Apple are holding back on the release to give them more development/testing time, I'm sure that Apple will ensure that no "antennagate" incident will happen again.

Apple's new release timeframe has zero to do with phone upgrade eligibility. Thus BS. And I bet AT&T call center people are so tired of Apple owners they probably make ***** up just to mess with their minds and they sit around the lunchroom telling the stories. :p

well seeing as i dropped my iphone in the toilet last night (RIP 3GS..) I'm working my best to revive it. If not, i'm out of luck and I can't go all summer without an iPhone, and I don't want to pay apple 199 for a new 3gs i'd only have a few months till the 5 came out. If the 5 was coming in june this would be a different story.
Suggestions?

I'd say to look around online and see if you can find an old 3G/3GS for cheap and buy it there. If you're only going to have it for a few months, there's no reason it has to be new and of top quality, that is if you're willing to get one.

OR you could just got and get an old phone or a pay as you go phone or something and live for a few months with that. I would avoid this option like the plague though if you can. Good luck.

$49. 3GS from ATT.

If he used his upgrade and got it for 50 bucks, he would have to wait for 2 years to get another phone at upgrade price. Either that or buy the iPhone 5 outright (which would be around 500 bucks.)

Try $650.

But truly, I doubt it will be pushed back much past September. As much as I wish it was true, Apple couldn't survive with 1.5 year release cycles. The market is too flooded with new tech for the iPhone to stay as prevelant as it is without constant refreshes.

Also, I think it would be wise for Apple to stay ahead of the game and give us full industrial design rebuilds as well. Not as important, I just love all the changes they make :)

The guy at AT&T was telling me December!

Edit: But then again the guys at AT&T are pretty moronic. So. I'm eligible for an upgrade, is using an old 3G one of my friends have or buying an old 3GS online my best bet and wait for the 5? Or should I just jump on the boat and get the white 4 with my upgrade?
