Spoke with the Apple store and they will be exchanging it for another new one plus AT&T added a decent credit to my account :D . Thanks for the feedback guys. I will definitely be more skeptical next time I think about having a rep work on my phone.

If it was a non Apple device, you would be a$$ out.

Did you ever Apple them you bought it from CL? I'm glad it worked out but I'm surprised they're replacing it since it was bought from CL.

Well that and he got it off craigslist. This would give any company cause to pause.

As long as the apple product has warranty, they will replace it no matter where you bought it at even if your not the original owner.

Yep. And they don't even have to check a computer code right now since ALL 4S iPhones are still under warranty. Probably made it easier for him.

Sound suspicious. How would anyone leave the store without even checking it? Just have them put it in the box and leave? Nope. Don't think so.

Damn, that's some pretty good customer service and you are very lucky.

As others have said, the fact you bought it elsewhere and you waited a day means that I'd say they were within their rights to be skeptical (because even if you bought it there, it could easily be that you damaged it yourself). Not saying I disbelieve you, just saying the circumstances from their POV would easily give them reason not to or at least wonder if you aren't scamming them.

Wow, you're lucky. I'd have to say though, Apple's customer support is superb. They replaced a magsafe power supply that had fraying in the wiring going to the magsafe plug for free, and without any question, even though it was out of warranty.

Good deal man. An apple store employee slammed my iPod into the edge of a table on accident and shattered the screen. They replaced it on the spot. They treat us right!

Thankfully they were able to access the device history and found it was purchased brand new from AT&T 8 days ago by the person I bought it from so they knew where it was purchased from originally and the purchase date.
