Definitely good for a certain segment of the AT&T customer base. I'm half tempted but we've got something like 1,200 roll over minutes since June. Clearly we're not hurting for lack of voice minutes.

Yeah.

I've been a customer since Oct and I had something like 3k rollover. We'd never use it.

The problem was, without this plan 700 was typically too few, and 1400 too much, but, you know how it goes.

The iPhone 4 on Verizon really does change everything, again.
Oh, that's just weak. I can't believe someone actually repeated that marketing drivel without throwing up in their mouth a little bit.

looking at the massive launch line ups, AT&T will be out of business by lunch.

Competition ≠ running scared

Competition benefits all of us. AT&T users should be happy Verizon is offering what they are since AT&T will likely have to respond... and vice versa.

The OP is right. I went to AT&T's site and found this:

I posted this on the main page as well under the thread about the lines...When I ordered my Verizon iPhone last Thursday at 3AM I was porting my number back to Verizon from ATT (my wife is still on Verizon under my name) and I needed my ATT account number. Wouldn't you know their site was down so I couldn't get it. I found it on an old email so I was still able to buy the phone and complete the porting over of my number. I thought that was shady, but probably just a coincidence. Now, I go on ATT website this morning to check if my account is closed and wouldn't you know their "my account" page is currently down, right when thousands of customers would probably need access to their account number to port their numbers over to Verizon. I don't think that is a coincidence.

Funny, I can get their on my iPhone...

Text Plan

As a possible new ATT iPhone customer, now there are only two choices for text plans......

Unlimited ($20) or None ($0.20 per message), how's that for options!!!

Considering I use between five to 100 text messages a month, this kinda sucks, but at least I'd get unlimited m-m.

Still deciding between ATT and Verizon, deciding the lesser of two evils

Att offers two options for text on single the unlimited and $10 for 1000 messages

Apparently your plan has to be $69.99+ on a family plan to get Mobile-to-Any-Mobile. We have had the 700 minute plan since Cingular and it is only $42.90(FAL 15%). Guess we won't be able to take advantage of this...

Call me crazy, but I would like to see cheaper voice plans with fewer minutes. I was previously on the lowest individual plan and had a ton of Rollover minutes and then decided to add a few family members on. We share 700 minutes/month and apart from mobile-to-mobile between us, there just aren't a lot of minutes used.

If we were able to get a voice plan that had, say, 400-500 peak minutes/month for $10 or $20 less, I'd be inclined to spend more on larger texting plans for two of the lines.

I think there is definitely a shift from voice to text/data and by requiring a certain voice package to start with, some people are passing on the options to save some money. I know, it's a phone first, but I think a lot of people are like me where the "extra" features get used more...and I don't even text much.

With Verizon I just got a 550/min family plan for $50 only thing is you have to be a customer for 2+ years to be eligible. Me and my wife rarely go over 300/min a month. I would love to see a $39.99/450 plan.

Running scared?

I think it's competition, they are doing this to compete with Verizon now that they no longer have the iPhone exclusively.

I just changed my wife's iPhone to the $33.00 450min package, she did have a 900 minute package for $59.00 with over 6000 mins of rollover so she clearly doesn't need a 900 min package.. I upped her text from $5.00/200 to the $20.00 unlimited text with unlimited mobile to any mobile as she mostly texts her gf's and talks to them on their cells..

All in all saved her about 15 bucks. Downgraded her internet plan as well to the $25.00/2GB plan, she was unlimited but she's averages about 250mbs of data..

But AT&T is running scared so I don't know why I wasted my time making all those changes, they may just be out of business by the end of the day.. /sigh

I love the Iphone on verizon!!
Forces AT&T to up their game.

2 Iphone lines 700 min/month
unlimited data
unlimited txt
unlimitied mob-2-mob
unlimited nights/weekends

all for $154/month.
(includes 10% FAN discount)

I save $432/year from my current plan.

I did lose about 11000 roll over minutes. But whatever, I don't use them and I'd rather pay a smaller bill each month.

That is a very good price. I have 2 EVO's on Sprint, and I thought they had the best pricing.

I am tempted to add the $20 plan to get the new mobile to mobile feature... but then, I don't get close to going over minutes now, so what's the point?
Good question. Why would you be tempted to give them an extra $20 for something you don't need? If you have money to burn you can send it my way.

my wife is starting her new job with the fed at the end of this month. I can't wait for that federal employee discount to kick in. :D
