AT&T must really be scared. First, they start giving some of their current customers the option of unlimited data. Now they are offering unlimited mobile to mobile. Which I must say is very impressive. I came from the lowest Sprint plan with mobile to mobile and never came close to going over minutes.

All this iPhone competition is going to give us, the consumers, a lot of better and cheaper options. Hopefully Verizon will follow suite.

The iPhone 4 on Verizon really does change everything, again.

Don't worry, let the big boys duke it out. Sit back watch and enjoy your phone, whatever it may be....

I love the Iphone on verizon!!
Forces AT&T to up their game.

2 Iphone lines 700 min/month
unlimited data
unlimited txt
unlimitied mob-2-mob
unlimited nights/weekends

all for $154/month.
(includes 10% FAN discount)

I save $432/year from my current plan.

I did lose about 11000 roll over minutes. But whatever, I don't use them and I'd rather pay a smaller bill each month.

On AT&T, that scenario (except of course the 2GB data instead of unlimited) would be $150 (plus fees). That would be $135 (plus fees) after your discount. Were you on a much higher calling plan when you were on AT&T?

Nah

Nah, I think AT&T will always hold the most users. They have cheaper options, were as the big only has the unlimited $30 a month extra option. No cheaper option. That's so dumb considering now they aren't letting there users USE all the data that is "unlimited" anymore, they are cracking down on people hogging the data.

And I've also always loved how much AT&T keeps it simple, and clean. The Verizon stores and commercials look dark and mean, but AT&T is so nice, bright, and open. :)

The plan is unlimited mobile to mobile I signed up today. My biggest issue with it was that I had to call and add it, if my plan already qualifies why not just add it? I already pay $200 for our family plan the least they could have done is just add it. I am however very happy I got it.

yeah the 10s of people lined up all over for the iphone launch today has AT&T really scared.

I always was, and still am on AT&T. I just dropped my minutes from 1400 to 700. I originally had the 1400 minute plan to keep the A list feature.

Before this plan change, I was paying right under $200 a month for 1400 min, uand unlimited data, txt.

Oh, ok, sorry. So, yeah, I agree -- the iPhone on Verizon has worked out well for those of us on AT&T :).

The news story is here if you are interested

Competition is good for everyone
I don't think this is "running scared"
Both networks have their advantages and disadvantages
And both are large enough that they will "survive" the competition

Sprint and T-Mobile are the ones on the outside looking in now

I agree. With Verizon and AT&T having the iPhone I don't see Sprint and T-Mobile surviving much longer as independent companies. Either Sprint and T-Mobile will merge with each other or AT&T will buy T-Mobile and Verizon will buy Sprint.

Great, then we'll have two nationwide wireless providers to choose from and they could charge $1,000 for 100 minutes if they wanted to lol

First off, thanks to the OP for the information. I just called in and got this unlimited mobile and any mobile carrier added to my account.

For those of you that just got this added to your account, is there any indication on your my wireless account? I was curious as to why it's not listed under your my services, I see shared minutes, unlimited nights and weekend, rollover, etc. but I don't see this new service listed on there.

I'm worried because I called the customer representative, and she had no idea what this is, so she put on hold, came back and didn't know how to put it on my account, so put me on hold again. The whole process took like 40 minutes, I guess after a while I was getting annoyed that she didn't know anything and gave her that angry tone of voice, so she gave me an extra 1000 minutes rollover, but I don't see that added to my account either.

This is what it says on my page. There is also a yellow warning box saying that since I updated my plan, the changes will be reflected online by tomorrow.

If you go to "manage features" you'll see the mobile-to-any-mobile option as a new texting plan. You'll notice there is a $10 for 1000 texts plan.

Here is a screenshot showing my current usage and the messaging plan as being "prorated" and added today.

And here is the overview of my rate plan and included features

I just signed up for the unlimited to ANY mobile plan this afternoon. This was one of the main features I missed when I left Sprint. Almost everyone I call is to a mobile number.

I'm now thinking I'll be able to switch from 1400 anytime minutes to 700 on my family plan. I'm gonna wait a few months to see our actual usage. I'm hoping I can keep the unlimited ANY mobile plan with 700 minutes on the family plan AND keep an "A-list"

That would be awesome, and lower my bill about $20/month.

For those who have the Family nation 700 for $60 and don't see the new plan you will need to call customer service.

At first I was all pissed because I qualified for it as I also have unlimited messaging. But after calling them up it turns out my plan has an outdated "plan code" that is not compatible with this new feature.

So, the rep was able to get my plan changed to the current code without changing anything else on my plan (rollover, cost, etc).

I'm so happy because I HAD around 5k rollover before I added my dad to my plan (5 phones now). I now only have 2300 now. I was getting worried I would have to up my plan to 1400. Now I don't! :)

I pay $250/month for 5 phones. 3 iPhones, 1 bb, and 1 dumb phone. Not bad.

If your plan is a couple years old then you may have to call and get your plan code updated.

Do you have A-list with your plan? I currently have the 1400 minute Family Share Plan, and have 10 A-List numbers. I was thinking the 700 minute plan gives you 5 A-List numbers. Is this right?

I don't think A-List is available for the Family 700 minute plan. Just looked and says 1400 is the minimum. Are your A-List numbers land lines? If not, the unlimited mobile to any mobile feature might do the trick and then you can lower your plan to 700.

I just googled it. Yeah, looks like the 1400 is the minimum on the family plan. I have 10 a-list numbers. About half are landline, and the other half are mobile.

I'm going to delete the mobile numbers from it tomorrow, and then monitor my bill for a few months before deciding. I normally use about 300 to 400 anytime minutes a month on the 1400 minute plan. However, we use about 1,600 minutes on the a-list, and about 800 minutes on the mobile to mobile (AT&T network only). My last bill was 130 pages long, so I'm not going to itemize it. I'll just wait and see what happens when I only have land lines on the a-list roster. If my anytime plus the a-list exceeds 700 on a consistent basis, I'll just stay put.

I have about 9,900 roll-over minutes right now.

Any carrier if you have unlimited texting (which seems weird) and a "qualifying" voice plan, which seems to be all of them.

The texting this is the hook, line and sinker. They offer it to people who sign up for unlimited texts because those people probably aren't going to exactly burn the network up using voice. If they were, they wouldn't spend $20/month on top of a voice plan to send texts to people. I already can't use up my minutes between three phones, and I'm on the lowest family plan. I just hate having to pay for text messages when something that worked over the data connection would be absolutely free. I have no huge urge to send and receive texts, but half the people I know do. That's the only reason I have the $5 plan. Ugh.

Im not seeing this when browsing as a new customer. Is this feature only for current customers or something? This $10 plan is whats making me want to sign up!
