You should do some more reading; student discounts are no different than other discounts. Do you think that AT&T has a special system for students? The answer is no; I would head to the AT&T store if you have any type of FAN applied to your account.

I am saying all of this because I qualify for a student discount.

I should do some reading?? I did read and it didn't say anything about student discounts.. I'm not a student so I could care less what kind of discount you get or what type of system you're in, you're the student so you do more reading to find out where you have to go..

Wow... this is the most pointless post ever. All that the other poster was saying was that student discounts are run through the FAN system just like any other employer discount. Until we hear it from the horses mouth, it does seem like anyone who gets a student discount would be better of going to at&t.

You had some information which may be inaccurate that could turn out to bite some people in the butt. He was just brining up a valid point.

Im willing to bet the AT&T store near my house will not have a line ;) Most people work that day, but I took off haha. :apple:

It's not even worth it...

Apple or AT&T for existing customer, non-iPhone...

So maybe this has been answered, or maybe we just don't know yet, but if I'm upgrading a non-iPhone (a Blackberry) on an existing line in an existing FamilyPlan, do I have to go to an AT&T store or can I go to an Apple store as well? I have no discounts applied to my service as far as I know, and any that are were put there by someone else and are already on the existing plan.

It's being suggested to go to an AT&T store to do non-iPhone upgrades...

I was in my nearby ATT store yesterday and I left there feeling pretty confident that things will go smoothly Friday. They plan to bein their store around 6AM to get things setup. They are also planning to have 7-8 registers going and their entire staff there working the floor.

He said his goal is to have is line completely cleared out in 2 hours.

The rep was very knowledgeable and the folks in that store seemed prepared.

A couple of other tidbits:
1. He said that the stock they are alloted was based on the number of units they sold in the first quarter that the old iPhone was available. So, you may want to go to a more active ATT store because they will likely have more than other stores.

2. He said that if they run out, they will place an order for you in the store and you will have your phone in 7-10 days. Not really an option for me as we have an Apple Store here also, so if the ATT store runs out, I'll just go over there.
