The reports I hear in my local area are pretty good and speeds are fast.
Im excited, after 18 years I'm finally leaving AT&T:D

18 years!!!! I'm with Cingular/Att just since 2005. Att is going to loose soon all long term customers, who proofed with years their creditability, not with a tricky FICO score.

I've just read the fine print - they increased amount of the unthrottled data to 25Gb!! They also give free sim cards. This is so far the best deal ever they have had for unlimited data if you need 4 lines or more.

I have all my lines on UDP, they going to increase 5 dollars each and allow me to switch 60 days after the price increase. I go to t-mo they port my numbers and after that my att history will be over. They confirmed to me that I can go any time Feb 25- Apr 25. May be their system doesn't work, but we have FCC and I can always open a billing dispute with them.

BTW: I called them 4 times and every time they told me that I was free to go right away. Only when I asked them to double check they gave me the correct info. This is the wrong info, they want you to go now and later you get ETF bill.
You could go anytime since the announcement. As soon as ATT released the price increase you had the right to mitigate damages. Legally you actually need to leave BEFORE the price increase as saying until the price increase is accepting the new price increase. ATT is dumbing down the process for lay people by giving then 2 months after the price increase to leave.

Congratulations! Try it first for couple days, then port over. I really want your feedback about t-mobile.

Service is regional. Here in LA/OC T-Mobile is pretty good. Single strength is lower than ATT for sure and indoor/parking structure reception can be an issue tho. IMO it's worth it for the cost savings.

Ya thanks for sharing. I'm on the older 180 for 4 lines + 40 each line promo and I'll get them to switch me over to this new deal instead. This isn't just the best deal T-Mobile has had for unlimited, it's a best deal ever. It's even cheaper than AT&T's old unlimited plan with subsidies included.

How long did it take to port the numbers? Did you port over the temp. numbers? I'm still in forward mode from Att to T-mo.

BTW ios 9.3 beta 3 has a carrier update for T-mo , IMHO it flies faster, esp. apps.

Wife and I grabbed 2 lines with 10GB each on TMO for $100 total (plus tax). We're porting our #s over on Thursday when the sims arrive. Already have the unlock codes from ATT!

I was going to jump ship from ATT to VZW, but the promotions that were offered seemed conflicting. I was expecting VZW to pay my ETF and provide a trade in discount for new phones - that didn't happen. They were only going to give me 270 to put towards the ETF or a phone.

If you are grandfathered on the unlimited plan and leaving att within 60 days of the $5 price hike - there is no ETF (unless you're on a next program)

Like I said, you can go buy some cheap used Android phones in Craigslist with a trade-in value over $0 (look on Verzion's website for the estimate) and trade those in and buy Droid Minis to get the ETF payment. Then sell the Droid Mini's to recoup your costs.

At this point its not worth the hassle, I'll wait out the contract and when then fall arrives, re-evalute our options.

They send me temp numbers.
And then when the sims came in I called tmobile and gave them the AT&T phone numbers to port over.
It took like 10-15 minutes on the phone and the numbers where already ported and working with the new tmobile sims fast.
Now Im chasing AT&T to unlock one of my iphones since we ported with no ETF fee's cause of the unlimited data increase.
They're making me wait 48-72 hours :(

Temporary numbers seem so counterproductive and a waste of time. Why not just start the port process and have an automated number to call when the sims arrive to complete it? At&t does it, VZW does it, Sprint does it, doesn't TMO have something similar?

They took 3-4 days to come by mail.
And if they port it right away you might be out of service till they arrive by mail. Unless you go to a tmobile store and do it right there on the spot?
I did the whole account opening online but like you said there should be an easier way.
Either way it wasn't much hassle.
They gave me temp numbers and ported them the day they came pretty quick.
I think the freesim promo is just online. I wouldnt want to pay $15 per sim or maybe at a store they'd waive it if you complain enough.

We will use AT&T, for example. If you want to port over to AT&T and need to wait for phones, or sims, they will take ALL The information and start the port process. However, since the equipment was "ordered" and not activated right away (inside of a store), it has to be put on hold. This gives them time to send the sim/phones. Once the devices arive, the port request (assuming all info is correct) is already confirmed by the prior carrier, and the customer calls an activation number. It simply allows the person to accept the terms and conditions and basically says "We got the devices". It then finishes the port process and activates the device/sim. No 10-15 min calls with porting, no temp numbers. The port does not complete until the activation number is called, therefor the prior phones continue to work like normal.

Interesting.
Not 100% if tmobile has a similar process for porting but I'd call them to find out more details.

I just did a bit of research, doesn't look like t-mobile has a system for that based on the people I just talked to on the phone. Weird. They don't even provide their company employees with a phone line >_<.

Well I did it. Gave up my 2 unlimited lines and converted to unlimited everything family plan. Saved approximately 30.00 by doing it, but I also added my cellular iPad pro to the plan for an additional 40.00. Crazy, but whatever.
