Anyone who signed up and tried it, whats the bandwidth? Is there a choice to set the quality?
On iOS you have 2 choices: "Good" and "Better." Haven't tried "Good" but "Better" appears to be HD (on my 9.7 inch ipad screen I can't necessarily tell if it is 720p or 1080p). It is lower quality for a few seconds while it buffers, and then clears up to higher quality. The picture is very good and the channels start streaming very quickly.

Thanks! Thinking about signing up just to use it in my Trailer when camping. Don't have ATT for cell so it would count against my data usage. Guess I'll give the trial a go and see what data rates are.

I was wondering how that would work. My guess is it won't be that easy. You'll have some kid working there being forced to harass you to change all of your services to AT&T. I doubt that it would be an in and out process for those of us not already with AT&T.

Then do what a normal human would do. Go in and ask for the three month Apple TV / dtv now deal. If they start pitching things you don't want, say "with all due respect, I'm only here for the dtv now deal and Apple TV. I'm not interested in your other services". I've done that at many different places and never have it fail.

Keep in mind they have a job to do. However, part of that job is giving the customer a good experience, and if the customer wants it to be straight forward, the rep is expected to go with it.

Just started using it. I signed up for the 3 months to get the free AppleTV. If you're in the market for a new AppleTV it really is a no brainer. There is a function to start watching a show from the beginning however, when I tap it I get no video just audio. Also, I can't seem to find the Tonight Show On Demand on the NBC Channel. That would be a problem until the cloud DVR comes around. All in all I think its ok. There's work to do but there is a lot of potential here. This with an antenna for local channels might just make cutting the cord easy.

Frustrated that it won't allow me to link a UK based PayPal account to make payments.

Thats false. They are adding them slowly....

DIRECTV NOW subscribers can use their account username and password to access the following network websites and their respective apps:

ABC Disney Disney Jr. Disney XD ESPN (WatchESPN) Freeform HBO GO (requires premium bolt-on subscription to HBO) MAX GO (requires premium bolt-on subscription to Cinemax) Note: Subscribers should select DIRECTV NOW from the list of providers and authenticate by using DIRECTV NOW account credentials.
HBO GO just added DirecTV Now in its list of sign in options and ESPN has it as well!

OK, I will say this. I am just about sold. The only thing that really needs to happen is for the amount of concurrent streams to be increased.

I can subscribe to CBS for $6 bucks and sweat a $40 a month bill. I can get my 4k from disc, Youtube and Netflix/Vudu. Nothing on D* has been compelling enough to keep it. I can also get by for awhile without an RSN. My main RSN is YES and I have that. Did not think I would be leaning towards ditching sat but I am.

Very very impressed. I am defiantly calling COX and canceling my tv service that I pay $45 a month as a apart of my packaged TV+Internet.

Only complaints... The app.. I can pause live TV... but I can't seem to figure out how to rewind or fast forward...

Can't get it to play on my Mac mini (2012). I installed the Silverlight plugin but it keeps saying to install it. What am I doing wrong?

Because there is no rewind or fast forward, only pause, and only for a few seconds

However, you can "Rewind" to the beginning of the show and watch it from there, and chose to go back to "LIVE" ... so why no function or fast forward?

I got error above until I enabled Silverlight, but I see you already have done this. You restarted Safari after doing so?

Directvnow.com not working here on MBP late 2013 w/ 10.12.1, everything up-to-date. Silverlight plugin enabled, and it works on other sites.

Error message displayed: (channel or show name) " failed to load. Restart the app and launch your content again. Or view Help Center article Error 40."

https://help.directvnow.com/hc/en-us/articles/213267423 says "Note: If you experience playback issues using the Safari browser, we recommend using the Chrome browser to continue watching DIRECTV NOW."

I would not use the Chrome browser even if they paid me to do so!

Safari is listed under compatibility, so hopefully this will be sorted quickly!!

Actually this could be BAD news and a complete dead end. It may not offer any support even in Chrome.

So does anyone actually have this working successfully in any version of Safari under either El Cap or Sierra? If so, which versions? thanks!

Im on El capitan and the latest Safari required to download SILVERLIGHT!!!! Really, SILVERLIGHT I mean welcome to 1999. Anyway, streams are good, better on IOS.

It's a no brainer deal for now, signed up for the 35$ go big, got the free apple tv. took about 15 minutes, but that was 10 minutes of training I did for the sales rep since I was the first in the store.

I already sold the Atv on the bay for BIN 142.5$. Made money and will try the service over the holidays and see if it works for me. Streams on mobile seem to take about 400-425MB per hour, on the lowest setting. Hopefully, they won't actually count towards my ATT unlimited plan.

What a great deal! I just signed up for 3 months. $105+ tax and you get a free ATV and 100 channels for 3 months. I'll cancel after :D
