That sums it up!!!! I've been throttled twice for using just over 5gb of data. I've had unlimited data since day 1 and they throttled me on the first offense. That is just insane.
No - It's AT&T, "AllTalk&Throttle"

Word of advice, try them out first before fully changing to them. Their service sounds great but can be crappy. I tried them out and the only reason why I didn't change was because I could not go in any type of building without losing service.
Same in the area of NJ where we live - several years ago T-Mobile had a "Try Before You Buy" plan and we tried it for a weekend. Coverage where we lived was ZERO - absolutely a Dead Zone, despite their coverage map showing good signal.
The FCC should fine them even more after this.
And this was using the iPhone that they supplied you?
Obviously since I live in the UK I am not an AT&T customer. I am thankful for that. It sounds like this company has had a little tantrum and thrown its toys out of its pram. Bless their socks.
It's the only realistic way for everyone to have an uninterrupted connection. I don't think it warrants a $100M fine.
It's like fining the water company for not "adequately warning customers" that when they use a kinked garden hose, they won't get the full pressure. On a larger scale, if the entire district is using water at the same time, they won't get full pressure.
I'll throttle my bill payment, surely it won't 'harm' AT&T.
"Unlimited data". You don't get limited on the amount of data you can download/upload, just on the speeds.Dictionary Definition
Unlimited-without any qualification or exception; unconditional
Throttling= restriction
How can something so simple be turned into a 54 page document.
ATT's argument -pointing out that its Unlimited Data Plan customers were more likely to renew their contracts than non-Unlimited Data Plan customer. Of course- it was and still would be the better deal if they honored what they sold- but as a big company they think it is a one way street. They can make changes to the plan but if you the customer are not allowed to..
Too bad the FCC cannot fine the CEO's directly for their actions- That would get results quickly and fairly as that is where the profits for making these decision ends up at.
They all do it to their unlimited data customers. Even T-Mobile will throttle you after 21 GB of data. I still think that with my FAN discount they are the best deal in town at least equal to T-Mobile in price and much better coverage.
