...only if you want to do the trade-in IN-STORE.

I traded-in an iPod nano...pristine condition...late last year. I had purchase it at Best Buy and they were able to look up the receipt. They did the trade-in right there.'

If I had purchased it elswhere, I would have had to send it in.

yeah I went back and re read that...I need an in store trade same day transaction

Which you going to?

I think me personally, I'm going to go into my AT&T store on the 15th and preorder mine, and then go pick it up in store on the 24th (possibly 25th if there is that normal day delay on preorders <shrugs>).

How about you? Pre-order/no pre-order.... AT&T/Apple Store?

If I'm going to upgrade (I'm planning to), definitely AT&T Store. Pre-order it on the 15th (don't want to wait for hours), making sure not to loose my UNLIMITED data plan (grandfather). If I go to Apple Store, they might mess-up my old account and that's going to be gone forever:mad:

Just a warning: AT&T has updated their pre-order FAQ with the following vague language that replaced the rather specific June 25 or later.

When and where can I pick up my preordered device?

As always, a pick up date depends on when you preorder and on our available inventory. That said, this year we’re encouraging customers to have devices shipped directly to their home or business – the fastest and most convenient delivery option. Customers can also opt to pick up their preorder at an AT&T store. Customers performing an exchange for iPhone 4 must have their device shipped to an AT&T store.

I might just stick with ATT this year again because I got my 3GS on launch date delivered to my house with overnight shipping!!!
I wanted to go to the store but I do not feel like going alone..

I was intending to pre-order for pickup at one of the local Apple stores, BUT, based on all I have read, I think I am going to pre-order for shipment directly to my home.

I'm really not in the mood to stand for (possibly) hours waiting outside the Apple store...as somebody else put it, amongst people who haven't bathed for 2-3 days (not necessarily because they were in line for 2-3 days but because they generally DO NOT shower for many days at a time)...employees clapping and yelling (as someone else so aptly put it)...

I MIGHT put up with all of that, though, if I could count on the Apple Store NOT screwing up my unlimited data plan...but I cannot count on that, and that would be a dealbreaker for me!

Hmmm. I'm still torn. I'll prob do ATT just not sure if store pickup or home delivery.

Everything I've been hearing from talking directly to ATT is 6/25 availability.

I suppose a day won't kill me. Avoiding lines would be a great thing as I work 9-5 Monday thru Friday and I'm sure my order would arrive safely on Friday.

Im adding a line - and according to store.apple.com that means i can't order online. That makes zero sense. People who don't have an existing AT&T account can order online but I can't.

Will try to order at Apple store on the 15th. I assume they can process family plan creation but i don't know for sure.
