Agreed. I wish someone would do a map that would compare the locations where you're likely to get 5mbps. At the moment, AT&T really wins there.

I also don't know if folks really understand that in the areas Verizon doesn't have LTE, their 3G speeds are insanely slow (compared to AT&T). Having switched both my iPhone and iPad to Verizon last year (after five years on AT&T), it was a real eye-opener for me.

I live in a location where Verizon has had an LTE "dot" for about a year now. The quality of their LTE network here is *nowhere* near the quality of their voice/3G networks here. That's just the nature of the beast, when it comes to rolling out new technology. Ultimately, that means there are times where my Verizon LTE iPad falls over to the Verizon 3G network. That is a >>>horrible<<< experience. Rarely breaks 512mbps around here.

512mbps?? good god. ive never seen that on any cable internet around here, much less a phone.

Gotta love living in NYC. :D

lol im in the Stamford CT area and travel into NYC all the time...and they always get everything first in terms of network deployments and new tech.

BUT AT&T 3G was terrible there in my experience. Horribly slow and unreliable. I'm sure their LTE is much better.

I thought it was, they just flipped the switch in many locations the day before yesterday. In Washington State for example, all the Verizon dots and all the AT&T dots should now be the same. I also believe that should be the case with oregon too.

AT&T is launching by Region in a lot of cases so "Seattle" actually included most of western washington including at least a dozen cities across the state.

Does the at&t launch include olympia? I know verizon has lte there.
