From what I understand all talk minutes have been converted to unlimited talk. I am on a old 700 minute family talk plan that was converted to unlimited talk.

They put my wife's 5C sim in my old 6 Plus and it doesn't work. Now I know why.

whelp there really are many other wifi phone call options out there.

hangouts is awesome.

So can anyone confirm whether or not this uses my anytime minutes?
According to the AT&T web page on Wi-Fi calling, talk is unlimited but text messages are still counted. That same web page also confirms that only the iPhone 6 and 6S are currently supported.

Edit: Can now definitely confirm that Wi-Fi calling does not use anytime minutes.

OLAM shows call type as "PVWIFI", and it did not increment my anytime minute count.

Yeah, an AT&T moderator on their forums posted their FAQs which confirm iPhone 6/6+ and up. Need to have HD Voice.

I pm'd the manager to ask them to elaborate on why. I am not going to hold my breath for a reply, however.
My daughter's iPhone 6 doesn't work because she swapped her SIM card from an iPhone 5S. AT&T told me the SIM card has to support VoLTE so I needed to take the iPhone to an AT&T store and get a new SIM card for the iPhone 6. In going to do that this weekend. We'll see if that actually works. My wife and I both has the 6S and they activated just fine.

On iPhone 6s Plus (with the sim the phone came with) and I get the following error: "We can't turn on wifi calling for your account." And then it says to call customer care... Any ideas?
