They can stick those rates up their asses. My ISP has blanketed the area with fast wifi, I don't need the damn carriers.

and if u have the 30 dollar unlimited data? What happens?

All the more reason to get an iPhone 5 that's not LTE to keep unlimited 3G. Cause if we are forced to change when the LTE iPhone comes out, then no thanks.

Like you and others, there is not a chance I would upgrade unless I kept my unlimited.

Not a chance.

With Verizon allowing for people to upgrade and keep unlimited, I seriously doubt AT&T does not do the same.

Now, after this cycle? Doubt we can keep it.

The "unlimited clause" will not last indefinitely. Those of us lucky enough to be grandfathered in and enjoying it now won't have that ability forever. It might not happen with the iP5 or 6, but eventually there will be a device that comes along which will require a 4g data plan, and you can bet when that happens ATT/VZ will not port over unlimited plans.

I know that as much I would hate to lose the unlimited security blanket, there's a 90% chance I wouldn't miss it as I am not a heavy user. However those LTE price points mentioned kinda suck at first glance, but now that I think about it aren't too bad unless you plan on streaming HD video 24/7 (which I don't). 5gb at $30/month is a good deal for me even at the slower speeds. That's more data then what you get for $45 (minus the tethering of course) with AT&T now on 3G, and its at an improved speed.

Poster above, it isn't an improved speed. 7meg is what is currently advertised. It is no different at all.

No different except that I have never seen anything close to 7Mbps(down)/3Mbps(up) on 3G. I also am having a hard time finding any "official" AT&T advertisements claiming that 7Mbps is the norm for 3G. I have seen things claiming that it is possible, but have not seen anything affirming that it is something to be expected regularly.

So then what leads you to believe that you'll be experiencing 7meg on this "new and improved" LTE network. Give me a break.

$30 for 5GB @ 7mbps? I'll take that. Thats great. Still have my unlimited plan for $30, rarely go over 2GB and I'm lucky to get up to 1 mbps.

Nothing leads me to believe that. Its a hypothetical because this network and these plans don't exist in the real world yet. If they did then one can safely assume that 7Mbps would be a reliable speed since its at the bottom of the rung.

So my point is that if the LTE network (once its up & running systemwide) supports constant (or even average) speeds of 7Mbps then it is a better deal then what I currently have.
