You don't need to take servers offline to prepare them for a "load"
Now I get this:
Due to a system upgrade the site is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. For immediate assistance please contact customer service at 1-800-331-0500.

Funniest quote of the day! It's AT&T, someone probably tripped over an extension cord
Post of the day
it's back up again.
Even though I can log in now, almost every link I click on inside my account takes me back to the log in page.![]()
Because people keep refreshing the page like idiots. You can preorder TOMORROW, why does everyone keep hammering the servers for NO REASON?

Its both sad and amazing at the same time. I love Apple as much as the next person here, but the common sense behind some of ya is mind boggling:
My god, seriously people?
- Constantly refresh AT&T's website for NO REASON
- Constantly initiate online chats with Apple store reps repeatedly asking when the iPhone preorders will start, as if they have any frickin clue
- Start 50,000 threads asking when the preorders start because you are unable to find the other 8 billion threads on the topic
- Set your clocks so you can be the "first" one to order, obviously forgetting that the 3GS preorder caused Apple/AT&T servers to die and delayed most preorders until the evening that day anyway
- Thinking that this device has so few items produced that you must pre-order immediately or it will run out 5 minutes after they go online
- Calling Radio Shack after Radio Shack after Radio Shack bugging them about preorders
My god, seriously people?
^THIS^
They're removing the white iPhone 4 pictures/order option:AT&T's site is DOWN
I just stopped refreshing my upgrade eligibility status long enough to read this thread... and I'm thinking, if they can't handle this kinda load now, what will it be like tomorrow (They are taking preorders online as well, right?)? Well, lemme get back to refreshing. Gotta warm up their servers a little more, so they can handle everyone in the morning. You guys owe me big time.
