True, but it's just not the same. The only thing is I know I can get an HP ZR2740W monitor for around $630 new (I've had one before and it was awesome). Plus my MBP display IS enough at 1920x1200, so this is just an extreme luxury. It's SOOOO tempting.

this made me laugh hahaha. The HP2311x is a 1080p monitor, and i used two of them on my desktop, but I sold my desktop and plan on getting the 2012 mini when it comes out, so for now I'm just using 1 of the monitors.

The most I need to be able to fit on the displays is 2 word documents and a powerpoint at the same time, which I did easily on the dual displays. I checked out the ATD at apple today and I was able to fit everything I needed too, just had to do a lot of resizing. The resolution IS amazing though, and if I got it I'd sell my 2 monitors to contribute to the funding.

I know it's competetively priced vs similar specced monitors (27" 1440p IPS), just a lot of money for something I dont need :[ haha. Unless Amazon warehouse drops the price more..like under 800

I actually remember seeing it drop to as low at 840something last week when I was looking for some OB deals, which means with tax it definitely would be below 800 for almost everyone--assuming its available. The $100 off coupon does end next week though.

dl the best buy app and check your local store first. Mine showed up there first before I called to confirm.
