Ouchville, population you bro!

$713? That's a deal!

I too somehow left the AT&T Store with an iPhone without the required data plan. Once I realized that I was going to be charged for data overages (which came when I received a text message from AT&T weeks after my purchase saying that I had 24 hours to add a data plan or they would do so for me), I immediately got on the phone with an AT&T tech. He noted that there was nothing that *he* could do about the problem, but he would notify someone above him & they would get back to me.

A week or so ago, I received a message from someone who works on the "upper level adjustment team," and was told that the problem was being looked at & would be taken care of. Two days after that, I received a text message asking for me to give AT&T two more weeks to process the "account review," and that they would get back to me. This is where we currently stand.

My bill as it stands right now?

$4,758.58.

Att will not do anything about it you will have too pay. Go to tmobile at least they will not cheat you out of money.

I rip on AT&T all of the time, but they aren't THAT bad. They credited me money for some game a doofus I lent my phone to about 3 months after I got the phone back. They took $20 off my next bill.

The key is to not be "angry annoying customer" and expect anything to get done. If this method fails, then you just speak to someone higher up until you gotta call Clark Howard and get him on the case.

I left the store without a 3g data package as well. I caught mine soon though and they added it. Yet could never explain to me how it a must have package and a phone couldn't be sold without one. Yet I was holding a phone without one.
