ATT iPhone 4 bumper replacement

Apple definitely has the best customer service. I had the original bumper for the iPhone 4 that I received for free with the case program. Anyway, that case wouldn't fit the 4s, so I called Apple, and they are sending me a free bumper out even before I receive my phone. 🙂
 
I've called 3 times...to customer service and to sales- they all say that the bumpers from the Apple case program for the ATT Iphone 4 will fit the new 4S. I know this isn't true....any suggestions?
 
I still had the bumper in the case and the part number was Part Number: MC597ZM/A. I mentioned this and said how the switch on the sides were different. Thats all it took for me.

but they won't fit it?? the buttons are in a different location?!?!?

when did you get your bumper? I got mine like a year ago, do you think they would still give me a new one?
 
I might try this.. I got my bumper when the iPhone 4 was released last year! before they even offered the free case program!

Hmmm so maybe they I would have a legitimate claim for asking for a new one?

How does it fit though if the buttons on the side are lower?

Like my bumper that I got in Fall of 2010 wouldn't fit would it?
 
haha well i tried and lady was like all bumpers have always fit because the iphone 4s is just an internal upgrade from iphone 4. She then said all buttons are in the same place. I was like thats false and she said nope i think i know better. Whats funny is she doesnt 😀

Me: I don't know...if my iphone bumper that I received in the case program will work, I will not need one, but if it doesnt, then yes, I will need a new case.

Me: I dont have my 4S yet...I will not be able to see until Friday if my bumper from last August will fit. I just need to be sure I will have a case when it comes in Friday.
D:mok, well check back with us on Friday when your iPhone comes.

Hmm. The one they sell now says it fits the 4 and 4S, and is different than the one that came out fall of 2010. I know what you're saying about the 4S having buttons slightly lower, so I'm not sure.
 
I also said that when I was in the store, the mute switch holes on the cases were different, but the Apple store did not have any in stock, and told me to call this number. I'm surprised this is so difficult, I was only on the phone for 10 minutes at the max.
