Why exactly do any of you feel entitled to a free case?
Whether you bought a bumper last summer or got a free one from the case program... it was for LAST YEAR's iPhone.
This year's iPhone had changed (even if it is a slight change). You bought a new phone, then buy yourself a new case. Simple as that.
Oh... and if you don't wish to spend $30 on an Apple bumper, you can buy a chinese knock off for as little as $2 on eBay. I even saw a lot of bumpers that came with every color for $7.

I never once felt entitled to a free case, I just asked if there was anything they could do because I had a un-opened iPhone 4 case. I was going to see if the Apple store would let me exchange it. I was willing to buy a new case, but if they would help me out, why wouldn't I try that first?

Basically I called using the order number of my iPhone 4s. Then when I was talking to the agent I said how I was at the Apple store and saw that the cases did not match because the mute switches are placed differently. I then said how the Apple store did not have black in stock, and they referred me to call this number. I also that the model numbers are different. He then asked if I wanted a different color because black was boring, but I asked for black anyway.
