ATT legit unlock for $174?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Interesting, anyone can confirm using this services with any success? What has changed through AT&T that something like this can be possible now?

If you unlocked with these new fact UL services, it's important that you backup the activation auth (NCK) with SAM (bingner.com/SAM.html).

you are quite smart guy:D

how is the situation now???did you get the answer from the previous $174.

but i think this price can buy a used phone w/ unlock from ebay in the near future.

I sent him another $174. Afer the payment processed I heard a brisk wind pickup outside. I think I've made progress

It's actually legit. I started offering the service on my website and eBay auction pages. Service came out today, if mods want to PM me I can explain how it works. Anyways I'm not going to be posting my links because that's probably against forum policy. And by the way the guy selling the unlock codes for 175-200 is not making as much money as you think, it costs us a lot of money for each unlock.

Congrats on getting your site posted on gizmodo (link to article).

Not even someone on the inside of AT&T can unlock a US iPhone, use your brain....

That's bs.
Noone can officially unlock an AT&T iPhone.
Carriers can only unlock iPhones locked to their own network.
I know there's alot of desperate people out there trying to unlock their phones and that's what scammers are taking advantage off.

So, what does it feel like to eat your words?

It's funny how the people who think they know the most about the hacks section actually know the least.

Im still skeptic about this whole thing but if you want to spend your $180 go for it dude:D
I wouldnt touch it, who knows if this will last and the iphone will always be unlocked or the steps that Apple might take against it. Too many if's but again if you were around in the scene for over 4 years since the first iphone came out you'd come across thousands of scams about iphone unlocking websites and any normal person first thing he would think is SCAM. What I posted above standed true since day 1. Things might change but again with a restore or update you might see your iphone locked again, who knows.
But whatever, Im just sitting back and waiting to see how this all plays that's all.
Hope its for real and permanent.

If you can unlock it once and you can back up that unlock wih SAM then i don't see what the issue is.

The issue being is if you have to replace your phone for any reason - unlock is gone as it's tied to that particular phone.

I guess that's a risk you'll be having to take (that and Apple pruning the DB looking for AT&T phones - but SAM should protect against that scenario).

If the IMEI number is really marked in Apple's database as unlocked, then a replacement would still be unlocked, because Apple transfers the activation profile to the replacement phone.

I was able to get my Canadian unlocked iPhone replaced at a US Apple Store a few months ago for WiFi issues. Even though I have an MC319LL (US model number) now, it's unlocked.

Yes, that's only if Apple doesnt reverse those unlocked IMEI's.

O you're right - I'm thinking of the device-id , which is unique to each phone and not transferable. Didn't know the IMEI is - I figured it wasn't.

I guess the other thing is if they can tell which IMEI's are supposed to be for which carriers. Then they could just figure out which ones are not supposed to exist. I guess only time will tell....

Still might be tough - prob only a few thousand (if that) out of the millions of AT&T phones. AT&T might not care to pursue since it's such a small customer base. If the price begins to lower I could see it being a bigger issue.

This morning i am seeing tweets from both superpaddy and cutyoursim that they are having trouble with their unlock supplier.

Let the wild rumors on the unlock door being slammed shut start, 3...2...
