Greetings

Because the poor signal reception of my new IPhone 3G, I have persistently contacted both Apple and ATT to request assistance. I have recently downloaded the latest Apple update 2.2 and with no improvement.

I finally was escalated to the Office of the President of ATT – here is the phone number 877-707-6220.

I spoke with Ms. Washington. When you call you immediately get through – no recordings, etc.

The reason for this posting is that there is a need for these folks to know about the signal reception problems with the IPhone. They did not seem to have a clue that this is a serious problem. There seems is a disconnect with this office and Apple – not sure why since this is a best seller for them.

So if you get a chance give this office a call – let them know that there are many IPhone users out there having poor phone call quality, dropped calls, no signal, etc. Maybe enough dissatisfied customers will have some impact on their Apple partner.

Worth a try

Mines fine, and I travel the country extensively.. Haven't had an issue since 2.1. Sure yours isn't just defective?

Hahaha. The office of the president huh? Is that supposed to be Randall Stephenson, CEO of AT&T? Or Ralph de La Vega, president of AT&T mobility? Because as an AT&T employee I can tell you that even if this phone number gets in even remotely close to in touch with either of these men, neither of them will give a **** about you and your problems.

How do you expect them to assist you? if you live in an area with poor signal do you really think they will put up a tower to just suit your needs?

Sorry brah, ive never had a dropped call EVER. And if you did actually call teh CEO of At&t he wouldnt do anything for you unless you paid him a nice amount.

I called the number. the recording does say something about it being the "South East Office of the President for Cingular Wireless". I'm guessing its yet another customer service number, and perhaps will get through to a higher level of management, but I still doubt Ralph is going to call you back and say "hey man, we're putting in a tower for you, thanks for your 80 bucks a month!"

Also, for those not in the South East, here's some other info I found via a google search

Eastern States 877-707-6220
Western States 800-498-1912

The president of a company is not going to have a direct number that starts with 800, 866, 877 or any of the like. Think about it, does anyone at your office have phone number that starts with any of those prefixes?

Truth Spoken.

de la Vega is fairly responsive. I found his email once and threatened a lawsuit against AT&T for some issues I had (which I won't go into). I had also complained to the FCC. Amazing how quickly I got an email response from him with it being carbon copied to a dozen people, one of whom was an attorney for AT&T who contacted me and was then referred to my attorney.

I have a friend who used to be a vice-president in charge of marketing for a mortgage company and he had a toll free number that was a direct line to his office. He only gave it to his wife.

At one point I had numerous dropped calls. Couldn't even contact AT&T before it would drop the call. Eventually after talking with three customer service reps one of them had me go to a local store to pick up a new SIM. Switched out the SIM and have had satisfactory service since.

I wouldn't say dropped calls is one of my AT&T complaints... As far as other things though I'd have a hay day :)

hey man i still don't even have my iphones that i pre-ordered on June 9th! But i think they may finally come this friday. Of course it took me contacting half of the front office at AT&T..and talking wtih several of their executive response team managers.

OOOO OOOOO PLEASE SHARE! give us a good story!

At&t

I have never in my life seen a more horrible excuse for a cell phone company than AT&T. I've been with other companies before and I've never been as disgusted as I am with them. The customer service is the worst I've ever witnesses. One rep tells you one things and another rep tells you another! I've tried contacting the BBB and the complaints go to the office of the president. But they are just as bad. They are not a company who stands by their word. They are wishy-washy. There is no consistency and they are not cooperative by any means. I am contacting my attorney to get out of my contract with them because it's a waste of my money, time, and effort to be an AT&T customer.

Tell us something we don't know.

Well if you threaten with a law suit that has some base to it they will obviously respond. However, if you just call up a random regional office complaining about the iPhone service they will not even think about it. Its just a waste of time and energy.

Well if you do threaten someone with a lawsuit they do tend to be a bit lively in getting back to you :p
