Does AT&T offer pre-ordering online with the guarentee of June 24th delivery?

There is no guarantee for delivery b/c of couriers mishaps i.e. misrouted, acts of God, etc. But usually it gets delivered on time.

Until I hear from Apple I will take this with a grain of salt. No offense to other posters here or on any other board. I just want some sort of confirmation.

None taken.
But I am sure you meant AT&T since this has nothing to do with Apple.

Of course, I just didnt know if they were offering the same expected delivery date as Apple.

Yea they are.

Since this is my first time going through a pre-order with Apple, are they always so secretive about details? I spoke with them earlier this morning and was told it "might" be Midnight tonight and it might be later. Huh? Shouldn't every detail be set in stone by now, barring tech issues?

Midnight tonight confirmed

Just got off the phone with an apple supervisor in sales and confirmed that pre orders will start tonight midnight pst and our credit cards will be charged once we reserve it. So if you reserve it tonight then your credit card will be charged tonight

FYI. If you don't want your credit card charged today, then just reserve it with apple online and you can pay and pick up on the 24th

I just talked to best buy and they said when they open at 10am they will be taking pre orders. And I also called an att store and they said 9am when they open they will start taking pre orders

Honestly, I think that FEDEX is the bomb ! I am happy that AT&T is using them. I had a great experience last year when the 3GS came out. The driver went out of his way and met another driver to get my iPhone..!

I spoke to an Apple rep all of 2 min ago. He said he's heard it's live at midnight. If at midnight it (the site) isn't accepting orders, expect it at ~6am regular business time.

That's great that your driver went out of his way to do that, however, since I worked for a courier company I can tell you out of experiences packages do get misrouted, something the driver has no control over. That's why I said no guarantees. In all likelihood 98% of the packages should be delivered on time.;)

No doubt!

Hmmm. I'm not refering to you but the employee that gave you that info.
After reading many threads here I have lost trust in what AT&T employees are relaying.
I'm not saying all AT&T employees are misinforming people but most are. Just an FYI. Take that with a grain of salt.

No doubt! AT&T rep told me to just swap the sim cards. I had to educate him on the fact about the microsim. "News to me" he said.

Figures. What's funny is that most of the people that do not work for the companies obtain and/or informed of more information than the employees themselves.
Good job that you told an employee the correct information.

Ignoring all the times mentioned so far, it is plausible for pre-orders to begin at 9AM PST / 12PM EST.

Apple operates in PST. 9AM is a pretty normal time for businesses to start the day. It's plausible they would want staff and support engineers available to sort out any problems and questions during the pre-order madness.

Starting pre-orders in the middle of the night when there is limited staff available could happen but doesn't make sense. Then again, midnight releases are pretty common. Who knows.

The more I think abut this, the more I am thinking that the pre orders will start at midnight pacific time. I just have a feeling, especially since Apple didn't bother to mention a specific time up front, like they did for the ipad launch. If I remember correctly Apple gave the time for that pre order several days before the pre order date was to start. Maybe this way Apple is just planning to quietly open up the store for pre orders at midnight/ 3AM on the east coast, and that way, with no advanced notice, the servers will not be overloaded so harshly.

Just a thought.

I agree with this. Midnight PDT would be 2am in the midwest. That's just silly. I can't remember Apple ever doing something at midnight. Book companies, sure, but not preorders on an iPhone.

Well I don't know where you live but in California I believe there is a consumer law that your credit card cannot be charged until the item you order is shipped! Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I'm thinking you might be correct, splash. Especially when they've been saying all along that pre-orders start on the 15th AND THEN they don't announce a time. An argument could be made that by them NOT stating a time, they mean the 15th at 0001.

just came from the ATT store, they told me to come in at 10am to pre-order. this girl was telling me NOT to go to Apple and it will be much easier pre-ordering through her :p

you are wrong...

When I ordered my Ipad it was charged way before it was shipped

Of course she want's you to come back. She needs the cash! Heck if she is nice and knows what she is doing, I would go back too. It's hard to find a good worker. Once you find one, keep going back because they are far and few between.
