I still haven't received the TORRAS one yet, but I can't recommend the ESR. I loved the ESR screen protector on my 14 Pro, but the current version for the 16 Pro gets a 👎 from me.So between the Torras and the ESR which is overall better to go with?
Mine looks exactly like that. Can’t see it if you’re looking at the phone head on, but at any slight angle it’s definitely there. Drives me nuts
I think I’ll stick with my thicker black bordered glass screen protector for now , I wouldn’t be able to handle that distracting rainbow effect.
Is this because it doesn't have black borders? I hate that rainbow effect too. I'd return it.Just got my parents iPhone 16PM and installed the ESR screen protectors. The install was simple and straight forward but the screen protector has rainbow effect on all edges.
I’m returning these back to Amazon. Anyone here with alternatives that don’t run into the rainbow effect?
And too narrow aka “case friendly “.Is this because it doesn't have black borders? I hate that rainbow effect too. I'd return it.
Do you go naked though? If you don’t, being case friendly is something I watch for. Although these days I try not to use a screen protector. And too narrow aka “case friendly “.
I never go naked tempered glass all the way. I avoid screen protectors that claim to be case friendly. However some still are when applied .Do you go naked though? If you don’t, being case friendly is something I watch for. Although these days I try not to use a screen protector.
it's not the screen protector: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...ay.2437423/page-2?post=33428649#post-3342864916 pro max. I just bought an ESR and Ailun protector from Amazon and noticed it heavily affected the touch sensitivity to where the phone was annoyingly unusable. I downloaded a touch screen test app and it was not registering light taps. I downloaded the same tester on my wife’s 13 pro max with cheap Amazon screen protector and it registered every light tap. As another test, I put on a spare 13 pro max protector and it had the same effect, missed taps. I took the screen protector off and the phone works as it should, so it makes me believe apple maybe didn’t calibrate the screen when using a protector. Idk just observation. Can anyone test their new 16PM?

I would have to agree with this. I have the ESR Armorite installed on my iPhone 16 Pro and the rainbow effect only shows when the I tilt the phone more than 10 degrees off axis. I would rather prefer this than the the whole black border issue with Flolab and Torras (see the other threads on the forum).I must say I am a little confused on what exactly the issue is here. You can only see the rainbow effect when viewing the phone off angle and not at all in normal use. I'm curious to hear in what situations you would be tilting your phone while using it so that you see the rainbow effect? This seems much better than having a black border literally cut off pixels from your display...
Nothing worse than sharp edges on tempered glass screen protectors even with case on I don’t like them. Need those 3D 2.5D whatever that tapers down on edges. Not only is there the rainbow effect, but you can straight up see the edge of the screen protector at all angles. Total trash and a huge no go for me. I want to not be able to tell I have one installed, which is accomplished by the black border. To each their own.
and in the first place people are “actively” looking for the rainbow edge. yes i admit its there but its a mind over matter issue. use the phone normally and its unlikely it will distract uI must say I am a little confused on what exactly the issue is here. Amazon hooked me up with the same screen protector (practically free using my Amazon credit card cash back reward) and I like it, edge-to-edge dreams aside. Paired with a case, it's pure bliss for the price. I've got two spares, probably because I over-prepared. But honestly, people dropping 25-30 bucks on one, messing it up, and buying another? That's some next-level absurdity.just installed the $6 3pack ESR protector on my 16PM. Not going to lie i’m surprised how much i like it.
I literally cannot find any “rainbowing” like others have complained about.
Only thing i would rather have is more coverage of the screen. It only covers the display but not the bezels. Would be fine if i used a case but I don’t.
However for $6 for a 3pack, im more than satisfied. Torras for 4-5x more expensive and it has a black border that cuts into the display a little bit makes no sense for me.
