I got the cheaper ESRs with just the frame, not the new pull of the plastic de-duster one and ghee’s no rainbow on either of our phones ?!
yup that’s my experience as well. the $6 for 3 pack (with just the frame application) ESR screen protectors have zero rainbow effect on my 16 Pro Max

pleasantly surprised. I was going to just use these till the better screen protectors with black bezel (torras, flolab) come out but i’m more than satisfied.

the rainbow is at the edges of the screen protector. you have to tilt the phone slightly and u can see.

Just got my parents iPhone 16PM and installed the ESR screen protectors. The install was simple and straight forward but the screen protector has rainbow effect on all edges.

I’m returning these back to Amazon. Anyone here with alternatives that don’t run into the rainbow effect?
I only use ever use esr and never experience this. Esr is a great brand and it can take falls without cracking. 1 or 2 falls it take it. And they have a warranty if it cracks after the extra protectors they Send you another set. I have 4mscreen protectors for my 13 mini.

SAME! We had ESR on our 13s. We have ESR on our iPads. We have ESRs on our 16s. Never had an issue! I’m beginning to think some of these posters are shills for the other overpriced brands!!!!!

I know right. I like esr cause it’s under $10 and it’s quality and better than the $30 for value and they give you three screen protectors and an install frame. Make installing it a breeze and looks oem

just installed the $6 3pack ESR protector on my 16PM. Not going to lie i’m surprised how much i like it.

I literally cannot find any “rainbowing” like others have complained about.

Only thing i would rather have is more coverage of the screen. It only covers the display but not the bezels. Would be fine if i used a case but I don’t.

However for $6 for a 3pack, im more than satisfied. Torras for 4-5x more expensive and it has a black border that cuts into the display a little bit makes no sense for me.
It’s only viewable on white or very bright websites/apps. Black or dark mode doesn’t show rainbow effect.

Spigens also has a slight rainbow effect but since most of what I look at is in dark mode, I’m not all that bothered by it.

Great analysis thanks. More yellow with the screen protector?

I’m using the ESR. I notice a tiny rainbow effect only on the bottom of the screen protector but I don’t mind it surprisingly. Didn’t remember until I read this thread lol.

Just installed an ESR Armorite I got from Amazon and not noticing any rainbowing on mine.

I have a 16 Pro and applied ESR (pulling version).

It was somehow applied too low and thus all corners look misaligned and the top screen edge has rainbow effect.

Also, I’m having problems with slight touches registering. However I’m unsure if this is hardware, iOS, or ESR’s issue since I applied the protector as soon as I unboxed my phone.

Yeah, the issue is that most of theee companies gonna have issues with their screen protectors because of the thin bezel and being able to have enough clearance for the cases
Even then, why is it so difficult to design a screen protector that aligns perfectly with the aligner?

I have installed the ESR Screen and camera lens protectors on my 16 Pro Max. Both were installed without any problems on the first try. There wasn't a cat within range to cause problems. ESR will be my go-to from now on. As for the rainbow reported above, ESR has fixed the issue.

yah they make great protectors. Mine has been on for about a year on my iPhone mini, and the oleophobic coating has worn off (sanitizing white after the gym daily don't help). Its survived at least 6 drops in my apple leather case, and its not cracking lol what the heck. And the floor has been hard surfaces. I also got a free warranty claim so they sent me more protectors for the mini.
