Throw your $.02 in wherever you want to, by all means, just realize that it will immediately be filed under irrelevant/useless/unhelpful/unnecessary by most.

But it will not be ignored by mods, if posts violate forum rules, and one pertains the matter of warez.

And btw, I haven't seen much of those posts you talk about. There are more posts from older members talking to newbies about using proper search tools first instead of posting something for the 1000th time. That includes me too.

Ah, the rules:

Warez/Serials/Keys.
Do not post software serial numbers or keys or refer people to specific websites, software, or techniques whose purpose is to break or bypass software licensing methods, distribute cracks, or obtain or use commercial software or media in violation of its license and/or for copyright violation. Do not ask for or give such help.

So what - I mean I have no control out readers of my posts will digest my posts. Some may like them and some may not. I'm not going to lose any sleep, or get upset for those that either disagree with them or "file them under irrelevant/useless/unhelpful/unnecessary"

I agree with puma1552 that threads are too often derailed by people who would rather lecture thread-starters than discuss the topic of the thread. But keeping threads narrowly focused would be too limiting and too heavy-handed a policy. If users post technical questions we'd like other users to be helpful, not dismissive, but we can't legislate that. So it comes down to common sense. If you think posts are inappropriate, report them and the moderators will make the call.

Some users would prefer that we immediately shut down threads if users don't use the forum system properly or are asking about anything that might be considered questionable behavior. For example, this thread seems to stem from that point of view, while the current thread seems to show the other side of the issue.

Our policies evolve to best suit the overall membership, and that's why we've drawn the lines in certain places and not others and why we try to maintain a balance between the extremes.

It gets old to see day in day out here, so I decided it was time to comment on it instead of sitting idly by any longer.

So.... you don't like people who comment on illegal activity and think most others will just ignore their comments. But... you feel the need to comment on those comments and think that people will take you seriously? At least their unhelpful posts are based on decent morals; yours is based on what? being bored by someone who dares to point out something that is wrong to do in the hopes that maybe someone might start to think about their actions and just might change for the better?
