ATV 4 Remote, doesn't use IR blaster to turn on TV...

This worked really well for me. I didn't even need to set anything up. It powers on my receiver and television... And the volume controls my receiver.

And as for why we need a remote... For somethings remotes are actually better than asking Siri to do everything. First of all it's quicker than saying hey Siri... It's also less disruptive... Siri is fantastic for doing searches and certain things though.

The apple Tv isn't turning off my Vizio P series... even though CEC is on.

Not too complicated for my Logitech remote. It control the TV, STB, AVR and aTV.

Exactly. I haven't needed more than 1 remote for ages and I currently have a PS3, PS4, XBONE, 360, WDTV LIVE, Onkyo receiver, and a TIVO HD all connected. Seriously, I'm amazed people still accept needing more than a single remote in today's age...
