No issues with my Caldigit Audio, or Daytonaudio going to my speakers from the optical interface of my Caldigit on my new MBP.

This worked somewhat for me. Given that it is not bus-powered, I had issues when the computer woke back up from sleep. Sometimes audio would go out, but the Mac would think that the device was still plugged in. It was all very strange and not 100% rock solid. This Cable Matters powered thunderbolt 3 hub has been best cheapest option for 100% operation: https://www.amazon.com/Certified-Cable-Matters-Thunderbolt-DisplayPort/dp/B01DYFHYNS

Does this mean we can turn back on auto time and time zone now lol.

Apple just released macOS Mojave 10.4.4

- Improves the reliability of USB audio devices when used with the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini models introduced in 2018

edit : combo update here : https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1996?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

now I hope they will fix that on High Sierra as well...

Internal speaker crackling popping still exists after the update. Prevalent when using Premier pro and Davinci Pro.
I am so frustrated with this....
