Ok, dumb question. I'm new to Mac. How do I get calendars, "now playing", etc. on my desktop? Is it this Geektools app?

If you're on Leopard, how do you have Launchpad in your dock?

I was waiting for that question to come up. :D

I just made an empty app (Text editor > Save as App Store.rtf > Change extention to .app > change its icon to App Store icon)

The same with the Launchpad icon :)

This is what I get when I open the apps - it's Dutch, but it says "The application [...] cannot be opened"
It does look cool, though :)

What's the point of making false apps that don't work or do anything? I try to get rid of icons in my dock that don't get used enough.

The appearance of the desktop as one piece is very important to me. I like a full dock, and I think those icons are a great addition to my desktop altogether. :)

I agree that a nice clean desktop is a must and can't stand things cluttering it up. On that some note though I still don't get why you feel the need to have icons for apps you don't have. Why don't you just upgrade and get them for real?

1) I think the icons look nice with the dock. Other than that it gives my desktop a Lion-like look.

2) My iMac has a PowerPC G5 processor, and Snow Leopard and Lion only work with Intel-processors. Leopard does run on PowerPC-processors, so...

You might wonder why I won't just buy a new Mac then.
Well, I bought this iMac a month ago and Leopard is enough for me.
Besides, I don't make thousands of dollars a month so I think even this iMac is pretty neat for a 16-year-old. :D
