Thanks. I realized that I never really used it, I usually just went to finder, so I removed it from the desktop. (General tab of Finder preferences).

Keeping with my theme, going a little older.
This is a pic I took of a 1956 Gibson Goldtop.

How do you do that.... I'd love something else than purple as my Log In background!

To replace your login screen background:

In Terminal:

1. cd /System/Library/CoreServices
2. sudo mv DefaultDesktop.jpg DefaultDesktop_Old.jpg
3. (enter password when prompted)

Quit Terminal

1. rename the desired image to DefaultDesktop.jpg
2. in Finder, drag and drop the image into /System/Library/CoreServices
3. when asked, click Authenticate and enter user name and password for your Admin-level account.
4. Restart

Very basic theme.

These are triplet fawns that the mama parked on my nephew's lawn for half an hour while she went down to a creek to drink some water. Twins are common among whitetail deer but the triplets are rather rare.
