Actually do you really think Apple will be sending staff around to check these boxes are intact on a public holiday - tomorrow.

I also think that its something to do with the new store in Sydney since no one is posting boxes from elsewhere...

Well, I don't see why Apple would send material regarding the new Sydney Apple Store to the people who are going to be hit the hardest by it's opening - the CBD-based resellers.

So far it's just one box from one reseller - doesn't make sense to me. If Apple were doing a Sydney-localised roll out of demo iPhones with the demo screen saver etc on the CD and a print copy of the manual for the staff then we would have reports from the many Sydney based reseller stores - we've only seen one box.

Well this is all very exciting. Now I just need some money and a lot of justification to give the wife. This is very unlikely to work...

I thought the guy holding the box would be more effected by the Chatswood store, but the people in those stores all start to look the same after a while.

A paycheck doesn't always buy an employer loyalty...

No, but having to tell your next potential employer that you were fired for disclosing confidential company information DOESN'T look very good on a résumé.

*picture that has been posted before and proven to be a fake*

Are you just being stupid and not searching or did you have a legitimate point for reposting this fake?

Okay, I was looking into who Carenstation was, just out of curiosity. I wanted to see if it was a hoax or not. So, I did a little sleuthing. I carefully read everything he had written, and I picked up some clues as to which Apple Store he works at. He mentioned that he was using the citywide wifi, and that he was in the US, so I cross-referenced all the US Apple Stores with a list of all US cities with public wifi. I found 21 matches. Carenstation mentioned that he was the sales manager. I looked in the list of Apple retail positions, and found that there was no sales manager. I chose the next best option, which was store manager. I went through all the stores that I had come up with, and saw if they had a current opening for a store manager. If they did, they could be eliminated. I eliminated two this way. But now, I'm stuck. I have 19 possible stores that Carenstation works at, but because Apple doesn't publish a list of their stores' employees, I don't have a list of 19 names, like I wanted. After I get the names, I can research them online, and find out more information about them, such as find out which one of them has a Macrumors user name (he said he was a regular, and had another user name). But I don't know how to go about getting that list of names, short of calling all the stores. Does anyone have any ideas? I'll post the links to all the relevent Apple Store pages.

Thanks in advance!

Blimey - people complain about the hoaxers having too much time on their hands ;)

How do you know the guy wasn't on holiday, or visiting another city?

As for the vacant positions - maybe Apple found him already.....

And why do you care? Or are you trying to fire his arse?

If he's an Apple Store sales manager, he's not on vacation right now, trust me. He has to be ready for the 3G iPhone launch, and he doesn't have time to take a vacation.

They might've, but I don't think they would have had the time within the last day to find him, fire him, and update the available jobs page.

I just want to know if he's really an Apple Store sales manager or not. I want to know if the information's credible. I can't wait another day :p

I don't think we'll ever know that. I'm not sure I want to - it would spoil the tantalizing fun :)

And anyway, I'm not sure it's a good idea to try to track the real person down and unmask them - scooby-doo style. Chances are it'll be the wrong person and they'll have an expensive lawyer in the wings. Where does healthy curiosity end and cyberstalking begin? Really don't want to test that one.

Another day to go. This is killing me. Anyone got any more blurry photos left? Don't care what they are. Just post 'em and let the good times roll. :D

I bought the wife a macbook last year. Wasn't even interested in computers at the time, but now she has her whole life on it: email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, the lot. Totally smitten.

I only had to suggest "Hmmm, wouldn't it be great if you could sync all your stuff on a phone and pop it in your handbag?";). Bingo! :)

Of course I'll get one too; it's only fair :D

I think it's only cyberstalking if you know who you're stalking. But I don't think I really want to continue to pursue him anyways, just because I can't find any other way of finding who he is without calling 19 Apple Stores, and I hate talking on the phone :p Plus, I was really only doing this to procrastinate from whatever the hell it is I'm supposed to be doing. Well, that, and I sorta did wanna know.... Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the vid to come out tomorrow, then.

the french site is back online
and uoloaded another photo.
they will have a video 1.5h before keynote..
don't know if it's real.

What's the URL? It was probably posted earlier in this thread, I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to go looking through 28 pages

Here's the picture and it's fake because I used Ps and this popped up before opening it.

In other-words somebody Photoshopped it on an iMac.

Well, not saying its not a fake, but how else do you think they put the black box in the picture and the watermark?

I said that only because none of the other pics had the color profile embedded. In fact one had camera data that stated 8 megapixel when in fact the camera in question only does 5.1 megapixel.

I think most of the gadget sites agree that it's a Colorware iPhone with a lens badly photoshopped on.

just so you know, colorware doesn't color the front of iphones. So that phone wouldn't be anything colorware it seems, but sure it could be photoshopped.

either way I don't care, tomorrow is the day.

It's also fake because Apple wouldn't put a black logo on a black back. It would be silver or something.

Also look at the top left corner. They overdid the paint job.
