This is really great, I am a student in Architecture and I can download it for free. Though, I've a first gen MacBook Pro (yes, an Intel Core Duo, without the '2', yes the first gen Intel Mac ever). The ID of my machine is MacBookPro1,1
Minimum requirement is MacBookPro5,1 MacBookPro6,1 recommened!!!
I can believe my system isn't supported, but the Mac you have is not allowed to be older than one year! That's frikkin' ridiculous! My 2006 machine will help my graduate in a few years, but without AutoCAD for Mac... crazy...
....
glad i don't use autocad software for anything I do. Heck I'm struggling to save for a full copy of logic pro studio.
You can buy a student copy at a campus store for $140. That's what I did at school.
Can anyone help, this is getting really frustrating, I can't find any solutions online.
Thanks
That would be pretty neat, but I think it's unlikely.Come on dassault
Pull your finger out and bring us catia for osx
Time to cut the M$ strings...
I worked out my issues, Autocad Mac does not work with a certain style of drawings that my office produce (they contain lots of clipped, Xref'd drawings) It seems to have problems with this (autocad LT (PC) has no issues viewing these). It seems to work ok on other drawing types and I have also got it to load and run on a 2006 Macbook Pro (ATI X1600) and it seems to open simple drawings ok.
....and its crashed....again!

Agreed! bring 3ds max to OS X and it's goodbye Windows for me!
that under system requirements they say you need a MacPro 4,1 or later.
Are you telling me my MP 3,1 8-core machine with 12GB of RAM and an 8800GT is incapable of running this?
They listed MBPs and other lower spec machines that can run this. What exactly do those machines have over mine?
Here are the specs listed from the website:
They're not going to have a mac version. They are working on the cloud version that was shown at SWW 10.This is going to be a huge kick in the pants for SolidWorks to port to the Mac. In fact, there has been an on line petition FWIW for a while.

Welcome to Autocad. Now you know why the have built autosave into every version that I have ever used (since release 13).
Like I said before, I won't consider using this for a production environment until at least release 2. For some reason, autodesk considers all its users as fair games for beta testers.
