It there is one thing I've learned from watching Pawn Stars, it's that with out a certificate of authenticity the autograph doesn't mean squat.

Isn't that what they call Drew for? I see them buy plenty of stuff without letters of authenticity if Drew confirms the signature is real. It very well could be real. Is it something Steve jobs would have done? If it is, then it's very possible it is real. The dude deals in that sort of thing. I doubt he's a dummy and knows what he has. If you cannot find history of him scamming others, then I'd assume it's possible that it is real. Who cares though? Steve jobs didn't make the iPad, apple did.

Maybe if he licked it or something...

Googled SJ's signature and the sig on the iPad 2 looks authentic

As unique as SJ is, I find it very odd that his sig is so ordinary.

Saw this on eBay and noticed it hasn't gotten much attention...must be fake I'm guess but how sweet would it be to have that and a way to prove it, what do you guys think?

Looks legit. In fact, I have 5 authentic 'Steven Jobs' iPad signatures laying around here... I can get you 10 if you give me a couple of extra days. Will do discounts if you take >15. $2,500/each. Drop me a PM.

I can also get you authentic Jony Ive and Phil Schiller signatures on iPad or whatever else. Just give me a couple of days.

He did sign an iPod nano case for someone, I remember someone posting the ebay auction on here, complete with certificate of authenticity.

Do a Google image search of Steve Jobs autograph and you'll see images of that nano. He signed it Steve Jobs not Steven Jobs. There aren't many exemplars of his autograph online but the ones that are out there most all say Steve. Interestingly enough, the ones that say Steve don't have an extension line off the end of the s in Jobs but the ones that show Steven all look just like the ebay signature. This seller has another Steven Jobs autograph up right now that looks the same. I think people who are faking Steven are using some reference online where this version of his signature is shown because it sure doesn't match the Steve Jobs version.

Maybe I was mis-reading your tone, but I was not implying that this iPad has an authentic signature just because Jobs signed a nano, I was merely pointing out that he has signed things in the past.
That iPad has fake written all over it. Who ever ordered the engraving was either not very intelligent or doesn't speak English as their first language. The whole thing stinks.

No, I'm just pointing out that it's odd that this guy has two Steven signatures that look the same when it wasn't common for him to sign Steven. It's not a legal document. The common signature, of those that exist, are Steve. I just find it interesting that the suspicious autographs are using the format he didn't often use.

I looked up the serial number as you can make it out in one of the images and it says it was device number 2528 to be built that week, so it's most definitely not the first iPad 2, and even if it was, Apple know there's a space between 'iPad' and '2' which there isn't in the engraving.

You'd have to be a complete fool to fall for this. I hope nobody does.

For all the reasons already mentioned, there's no way this is real. At the very least, if you want to believe that there's a possibility that it could be, that possibility has to be so low you'd never risk that much money on it.

I just wonder if the seller, given his excellent rep, really believes this, or he's just finally decided he wants to make a big score.

So I asked the Seller if they had a COA, and their response should basically tell you the complete story/Buy at your own risk.

My Question

Do you have any sort of verifiable authentication on the signature?

Their response

Hey there, thanks for the interest! Unfortunately this autograph does not come with a COA. No reputable company at this time will certify a Steve Jobs autograph. Therefor it comes with no COA. Thanks for looking!

You can tell who ever wrote it did it very slowly. It looks unnatural but still quite a decent match.

I agree. I used to be a bank teller and matching signatures isn't that difficult. This was obviously signed slow and deliberate. They also copied legal doc's that Jobs' signed, easily seen on Google images.

But yeah, the engraving is horrific. It can be reported to eBay as a fake and they'll pull the listing.

You can tell by the jagged edges in the letters that have stopped and started from the same position. It's done quite badly.

I would love that all
